i dont usually do mocks, but ill give it a try

round 1- andrew luck QB stanford

round 2- mark barron or poe hopefully one of them is still there

round 3- coby fleener TE stanford

round 4- tommy streeter wr miami

I would love this, but I think Barron, Poe and Fleener will all be off the board by the time the Colts pick at #34. I hope not though.

Why is everyone mocking us a TE, even if Clark doesn't stay we still have Tamme, and if Tamme doesn't stay, I doubt we release Clark. We're good at tight end!!! Eldridge is getting good at receiving too.

well everyone is looking for that tall athletic graham gronk like TE and fleener fits the bill

I would love to get Fleener, he could be an important part of the offense no matter who the QB will be and he will also be a familiar face for Luck. Great with a big player who can be a good red zone threat.

Isn't that good? Are you crazy? He was the most productive tight end in the 2nd half of the 2010 season, and he's just as productive as Clark. He's still young and is a good blocker. With him as a starter, the position does not become a need. I've read some crazy things online, and this one is up there (sorry to be harsh, but that's the truth).

i agree with you andy. i think tamme is a very good te, but fleener would add a different dimension to our offense

But is it worth spending a high draft pick on a TE who would only split time, when we have other needs like CB, NT, and OG. Priorities come first.

we need to address those issues through fa. there are plenty of good NTs like mckindly or redd. webb for cb. grubbs for OG.

Except we don't have any money to spend in the free agency due to all the free agents.

a lot of our free agency are cheap. we will probably give mathis a big contract and probably franchise reggie. garcon i cant see us giving him more then 5 a year. something like 5 years 25m with 15g

Is it ever a wasted pick if the guy you draft is better than the guy you have? When you pick only on a "needs" basis you end up with less talent down the road.

i'm glad he was productive, but much like blair white he was productive because manning had to throw it to somebody. people on this board were actually comparing the first year of blair white vs reggie wayne....that's absurd. you need to understand the difference between a good situation and real talent.

zero chance reggie gets the franchise tag....

But if you pick based on the best man available you're going to have holes down the road...

If he can do the job, then why not? Blair White wasn't one of the most productive players when he was playing; Tamme was. Sure, Manning makes receivers look good, so can't you use that same theory on Reggie Wayne, and current TE starter Dallas Clark. Tamme is good, he's fast, has good hands, and is a good blocker. He's a solid starter, and I don't think it's worth spending a 2nd round pick on a good TE, when you have a solid starter there, and many needs elsewhere.

i wasn't advocating taking a te in the 2nd, well, unless he is a complete stud. i just don't think on a pure talent level tamme is anything special...not nearly as good as clark (was).

maybe nobody, but if i had to it would be mathis. franchising reggie would pay him top 5 money and he isn't anywhere close to that this point in his career.

he almost reached 1000 yards with no qb and you cant not use the franchise tag thats a waste

so did jabar gaffney, i doubt anyone pays him top 5 money. truth is reggie is 33 years old and on the decline for a rebuilding team...what would be the point of paying all that money when it could be better spent somewhere else.

you did not just compare gaffney to wayne. we get rid of wayne we have zero number one wr and we would have to spend a high draft pick on a wr.

no i didn't compare wayne to gaffney...nice try. the colts are in rebuild mode maybe the get a receiver this year, maybe not....can't fix everything in one off season.

well its either we tag wayne or he walks because i doubt he will stay if we offer a cheap contract. he will get a very good contract from any other team.

oh, he will walk. why do you think he hasn't heard a peep from the colts? he will get a decent contract, but he won't get franchise tag money.

This would be pretty close to an ideal draft/free agent situation. Maybe a nose tackle in FA rather than LB but still really cool

jarret johnson is old. i would rather see what hughes can do. also i would prefer we sign laron landry instead of drafting a safety. landry would be prefect for our defense.
