2017 draft redo

Unlike previous drafts, I don't have much hindsight on this one. If we were to have made any changes though, here's what I would have done.

 

1. Hooker

2. Wilson

3. Kareem Hunt (RB)

4. George Kittle (TE)

4. Nate Hairston (CB)

4. Jake Elliot (K)

5. Anthony Walker (LB)

5. Bucky Hodges (TE)

A kicker?  

 

In the 4th round? 

 

Where would we play him?       There's this guy named Vinatierri who looks like he's a pretty good player and may have a promising career.....

Beats having Zach Benner waived before the season starts right?

 

Not to mention, with good mentoring from Vinatieri, he can probably be very very good and reliable the next 15 years.

Not really because we would have waived this kicker as well.  Not holding a roster spot on active or PS for a kicker with Vinny here.  Waste of a pick.

No team hangs onto 2 place kickers on the roster.

 

Put him on the practice squad and another team signs him away.

 

If you are going to do that you need to just say we release Vinny.  And honestly I don't have a problem with that.  I like Vinny but it's time to get younger there too.
