New England (-6.5) at New Orleans (9-17-17)

1 p.m. EST...Jim Nantz. Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson on CBS

over-under at 56

rare (and almost certainly the final matchup) of AARP superstars "Shady" Tom Brady and Drew "King Creole" Brees

Brady was just 16 of 36 in the opener against KC and he will want to get the ball to Rob Gronkowski more than the two times he did last week.

Brees was 27 of 37 of 291 yards but NOLA gained just 60 yards on 21 carries.

Adrian Peterson whined because he only got six carries so hell be getting more this week.

Pats gave up 537 yards last week and that may not get much better

The eye-opener here is the spread.

It suggests that NE's loss was a fluke and The saints lost because they are bad.

Without Donte Hightower (knee) at linebacker and playing down south. I'd take the Saints and 6 1/2 all day

The 'over' at 56 is a little too high

I'll give the points and take the over.   The saints defense is awful

So on cue the media here is salivating over the Pats, including one post that Brady lighting up one of the worst defenses in football explains why he is the GOAT and Tedy Bruschi is the nasty king of defense and Belichick can play chess with 20 people at once and Butler is a hero and blablablablabla best ever.

Hard to argue most of it unfortunately.   They just don't lose  back to back games.   The pats giving the points was the easiest get of them  all this week

They will still go 13-3 and win it all IMO, last week didn't mean squat. Just keeping it real. I am tired of them but I picked them to Repeat, cant bet against them.

Cubs are going to Repeat too, it's a winning Front office baby! Warriors too lmao Cubs just swept the Cards like the Warriors toyed with the Cavs and like the Pats will toy with everyone for the rest of the season - at least no undefeated crap will be talked about.

I will tell what's shocking UConn women losing last season. Being a Cubs fan I am worried about the Dodgers and Indians to be honest. I think the Warriors and Pats have it made haha

Indians pulling the Warriors route.. be very afraid. I do like Kris Bryant.. since we share the same name lol its cool hearing my name on tv and the radio

And yes us people here in Ct were shocked.. Huskies are pretty much our pro team. And I just assume they'll win every game I didn't even really pay attention lol

Anyone still want Sean Payton?? Honest question...how much luster is off that guy....to think a couple years ago people were wanting to give draft picks to get him....and I think he may be on his way out. Don't get me wrong he is a very talented guy but wondering if he hasn't lost his voice in that locker room.

No, I'll keep it simple

It has to make certain homers mad that 1 year after Bill Belichik wasn't the reaaon the Pats won with Brissett, he threw a game ending INT playing for somebody else.

Not really,   it was his 3rd start and only two weeks with this playbook.

    • Marvin but it will never happen. We will probably trade back even.    It has nothing to do with his father playing here either, it is about getting the best player in the draft. His father playing here is just the neat part.
    • FWIW:  sometimes when a player like Blackmon gets a one year deal it’s the players call as much if not more than the front office.   The player believes in themselves and are wanting a one year deal so they can go back into free agency sooner.  They view a multiyear deal as below market value.   Blackmon’s deal has a base plus incentives.  It’s not an insult.

    • Spencer Rattler better than Michael Penix Jr and Nix. Wow! That has to be one of the most ridiculous takes I have ever heard. To be honest I have never heard of that Tice guy either. McCarthy will be the biggest bust in this draft and I feel confident in saying so. McCarthy = Mac Jones. Washington went as Penix went, he had to carry Washington all season with an above average O.Line and average running game. He had Rome and that was about it. McCarthy had the best O.Line in the country and arguably the best running game as well. He was a game manager and could win as long as he didn't turn it over. Michigan beat Washington because they ran for nearly 300 yards. Tommie Frazier would have won it all with that type of offense and he wasn't even drafted.   Regarding Kirk Cousins, at least you don't have him to pile on anymore. You will see how life without Kirk is, the Vikings will be lucky to win 7 games and I like the Vikings as a team. My father would be so disappointed in the Vikings FO right now and their fans at the way Kirk was treated. He was still alive in 2018 when the Vikings got Kirk and he loved the move. He was the biggest fan I ever knew. He loved them when they got Fran in the 70's and was a fan until he passed away in 2019. His favorite player was Peterson in this era. He said he would take him over any RB that ever played except maybe Barry Sanders.    Kirk Cousins career with the Vikings: 2018-2023 *50-37-1 Record. A playoff win at New Orleans Saints in 2019, beating Brees.   *4 seasons with over 4000 yards   *3 seasons with over 30 TD's   *7.8 Y/A   *68% Completion I know, they should draft Penix.
    • Regarding Worthy -4.21 Speed has to be accounted for by a defense whether the ball is coming his way or not. So does that potentially create more opportunities for other Colt offensive playmakers.  I would say yes. I am sure the Colts have taken note of the impact of Tank Dell 5'10 165ibs (709 yds) on the Texans offense in his rookie year. If it helps take advantage of AR's physical tools and unlocks part of the Colts offensive playbook I am all for it. He is a quick twitch football player and not just a track guy. He is third all time in longhorn history with TD catches in 26 of 39 games, and has caught a pass in all 39 games.
