To me, in a 10 team league, it can become an embarrassment of riches with lots of loaded teams competing in it. So it becomes more about who you play than what players you have. In other words, lots of teams have the depth to go the distance.

12 league teams, it is a little more tilted towards the players you have as much as who you play, IMO. It is a bit more balanced, IMO, with depth at a premium but everyone should have enough dibs for starters.

14 and 16 league teams, if you don't have the players, and end up with some key injuries, it becomes a long road ahead with slim pickings on waivers.

I play in two 12-team leagues.  Those drafts are next weekend.  I wouldn't even consider a 14 or 16 team league.  , Even a 12  team league with deep benches is tough if you have injurious

Here's my dynasty roster that I drafted back in mid July. I'm pretty stoked I got both WR Mike Evans and Amari Cooper in the 1st round. I ended up trading my 2018 1st plus my startup 2nd rounder to land Cooper. Both are young studs who will be at the top of the WR rankings year in year out for the next 8 years in my opinion.

I have also recently traded RB Donta Foreman, whom I drafted, plus my 2018 4th to the owner of my 2018 1st rounder to get that back.

This is a 10 team 2 QB PPR Dynasty League, with 2 Flex positions and 3 IDPs...(Remember this is dynasty format so age matters)

Starters

QB - Marcus Mariota, Matthew Stafford

RB - Jay Ajayi, Isaiah Crowell

WR - Mike Evans, Amari Cooper

TE - Greg Olson

Flex - Doug Baldwin

Flex - Jamison Crowder

LB - Bobby Wagner

DL - Carlos Dunlap

DB - Eric Berry

Bench

RBs - Marlon Mack, Jamaal Williams, Duke Johnson, CJ Prosise, Adrian Peterson

WRs - Emmanuel Sanders, Marvin Jones, Chris Godwin, Chester Rogers, Ryan Switzer

TEs - Jack Doyle, Jonnu Smith, Vance McDonald

QBs - Andy Dalton, Paxton Lynch

Defensive players - Lavonte David, Malik Hooker, Solomon Thomas

12 team Colts forum elite league (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB/TE, 1 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF - you can play up to 3 RBs and up to 4 WRs, no mandatory TE):

QB: Tom Brady, Andy Dalton
RB: Carlos Hyde, Derrick Henry, Mike Gillislee, Theo Riddick
WR: Antonio Brown, Dez Bryant, Tyrell Williams, Jamison Crowder, Eric Decker, Kendall Wright
PK: Caleb Sturgis
TD: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals

I think I did fine on the QB and WR front. Made the best out of what I had on the board.

Yes things get real thin in a 12 team league. I think those who were there did real good. It is going to be real competitive this season just like last season was.

Colts Forum Elite League (12 team):

QB: M. Ryan

RB: L. Miller, B. Powell, D. Forman (Hou), J. Connor (PIT), A. Kamara, M. Jones (Colts).

WR: J. Jones (ATL), M. Thomas (NO), S. Diggs, D. Moncrief, J. Brown (AZ)

TE: M. Bennett

PK: J. Tucker

DEF: Vikings

Picked up a lot of rookie RBs at the end of the draft 'cause I wasn't happy with my starters.

Hopefully, some of the quantity turns into quality(?).

12 Team PPR:

QB: Luck, Stafford

RB: D. Johnson (AZ), T. Coleman, A. Kamara, M. Mack, S. Perine

WR: T. Pryor Sr., TY Hilton, S. Diggs, J. Brown (AZ), M. Jones Jr.

TE: K. Rudolph, OJ Howard

K: Vinatieri

DEF: K.C.

Even though I had D. Johnson, I needed to pick up a number of rookie RBs at the end to compensate for the lack of RBs at the beginning.

I like this in my draft recap:

Week 2

Featuring projected top scorers Andrew Luck and Ezekiel Elliott, the easiest contest figures to be in Week 2 against AxelF, as SilentHill has a 55.8% chance of emerging victorious.

I like this team too, but I think the WR group is thin. The RB depth is staggering. Should be able to trade one of those 5 for some serious WR talent should someone else get hit with the injury bug. *knock on wood*

Colts Forum Elite League - 12 team.

QB: A. Rodgers, C. Wentz

RB: D. Murray, CJ Anderson, L. Murray, T. Rawls

WR: E. Sanders, D. Hopkins, L. Fitzgerald, J. Ross, K. White

TE: J. Graham, C. Fleener

The computer is predicting me to win the league.  Which means I will be in last place.

Best finish I ever had was 3rd place and that was in a league where the draft recap predicted me to not win a single game and be last in the league.  So I'm guessing the opposite will occur here.

My draft is tomorrow night. I will post then. I was wondering. I would like to know what position in the draft each of you were. It seems D. Johnson & A. Brown are on some rosters & I'm curious if they were 1st picks or not.

In my draft, D. Johnson went first, L. Bell second, and A. Brown 3rd.

Good luck

Are you being serious? -You asked if two of the three top targets in fantasy are 1st round targets.  Maybe I misunderstood your question.  I honestly thought you were kidding

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I am curious as to what number pick everyone was. Such as: Someone selecting D. Johnson or A. Brown I would assume picked #1. Someone who selected O. Beckham or AJ Green maybe picked #2 in their particular draft. Another example being: If you don't pick until #6 or #7 you mighty end up with perhaps C. McCafferey or I. Crowell. I'm just wondering what each players first pick was in regards to what number they selected their pick.

Do you get what I'm saying? Does it make sense?

    • I think if the Colts get a WR in the top-50?picks, or so,  I think the Colts would agree with you.
    • welp, after another week of developments, rumors, and predictions…here is where I stand:   1.  My personal top 5 for our first has not changed.  Mitchell, Arnold, Turner, BTJ, Bowers are still who id be ok with picking at 15.  I’ve said it before, but this is one of the most “it can go any way for us” drafts I’ve witnessed for us in a long time, if not ever.     2.  With the rumors of us looking to trade up, I AM ALL FOR IT.  It’s ok to play it safe and build your team, but that gets mediocrity.  We need to go out and get a guy.  A player we KNOW that will be elite or very good.  Not one that we hope can do that.  I think MHJ is definitely going to the Cards (if they don’t trade out) so that means either Nabers or Odunze who we’re probably trading for if they fall to 8 or 9.  Id prefer Nabers over Odunze.  Nabers is that blazing separator we desperately need, Odunze is possessive beast, but I feel we already have that with MPJ.  I don’t think trading up for bowers would be worth it.     3.  Trading back is an absolute no for me.  As said above, we have to start getting bonafide players and studs.  If we have a chance to get a bonafide stud, then we shouldn’t give it up.  Trading back and giving up the chance to get someone is lowering the talent level of our first pick.  Let’s get aggressive for once and get OUR guy.  If we can’t, let’s stay put and draft a player who will be VERY good.
    • FYI Castro went back to college at Iowa this upcoming season.  Look for Sebastian in the 2025 NFL Draft.
    • Like most QBs they need a safety blanket to throw to and that can be a TE.  Draft rumor-mill already in full circulation with news that the Colts want to trade up on Day 1.  Still think it's a long shot to draft a legacy in MHJ reaching P4 with the Cardinals.  A trade up to P8 with Atlanta is probably the most realistic scenario and TE Bowers would be the call-in.  Not sold on most of this year's draftable QBs and doubt 4 or more will be drafted within the top-8 picks.  See the draft play out like every other year where teams can stay and get a serviceable QB.
    • This could very well be the rare year we do trade up on Day 1.  Really shocked if we go after a legacy and the cost might be too rich for the short-term versus draft immediate draft needs.  Now a trade up to say P8 swap with Atlanta has a higher percentage of happening I do feel.  No way going to trade within our division with the Titans at P7.  At P8 should still have one of the top-3 WRs or even better option of drafting a generational TE in Bowers.
