Thank you for sharing the article. I have read in other articles that many of the football players who have shown the clinical symptoms of ALS actually may not have ALS. They may have something similar as described in the article you posted. Regardless of the cause, people with those symptoms lose their ability to function independently and their quality of life gets progressively worse. It is like a slow death. 

 

I read that the chances of military veterans getting ALS is twice as much as the general public. I am interested in finding out why that is.

Thank you. I will read it. I was about to add to my post when I saw your notification. (I think only you and I may be interested in this stuff.)

 

One study found that football players are four times as likely to get ALS  (and Alzheimer's Disease) than the general population.

Ah, more evidence that brain trauma may contribute to neurological problems. 

 

I am surprised more football players don't complain of having seizure disorders. I know that Alan Fanaca and Samari Rolle have been diagnosed epilepsy. With Fanaca, it was diagnosed before his playing days, I believe.
