2016 draft what if

Recommended Posts

What if Grigson took Jordan Howard in the 4th round last year instead of Antonio Morrison? Would that have made our team better or worse?

Safe to say, we'd have won the Jacksonville game in London. Probably had a 9-7 record at least, very possibly 10-6.

At the same time, we'd be picking around 20 this year instead of 15, so we wouldn't have Malik Hooker.

It's the offseason already.

Yay! Another defensive player down.

Soon we will achieve the dream of having a 100% offensive roster. Soon.

He wouldn't have started over Gore and Morrison didn't start over DQ. Probably would have been a wash.

So much talent, especially defensive talent was available that we would have gotten a talented player, even if it wasn't Hooker.

Except Jordan Howard got 1300 yards rushing, 300 receiving in a rookie year. Probably will be their new Matt Forte for the next 10 years.

IMO we would have guaranteed won the Jacksonville (London) game last year with him, especially on the 4th and 1. Also would have helped us run out the clock in Houston.

He got those totals because he was thrust into a 3 down starting spot. He would not have started over Gore if he was here. He might have put up some numbers as a COP back but he wouldn't be a 1000 yard runner here last season.

Yeah, you can't just plug a players' stats into a different theoretical scenario.  Howard, or even Zeke Elliott, would not have gotten those same numbers on just about any other team in the league, because they probably would have stayed backups on most other teams last year, including the Colts.

Zeke would not have been a backup on many teams. He wouldn't have the same line, but he'd be starting on 25 teams.

  • 3 weeks later...

If we're gonna do this then...........

In 15...What if we had traded down to the 2nd, picked up at least an extra 3rd and 4th, taken Eric Kendricks, then moved up 3-4 spots for Markus Golden, Danielle Hunter, Henry Anderson, and Clayton Geathers ?

In 16....What if we had (Still traded down, but in RD3, not RD2. Then taken Ryan Kelly, Cody Whitehair, Tavon Young, Jordan Howard, Rashard Robinson, Jatavis Brown, Jalen Richard

LOL. Yeah. Imagine us with an up and coming top 5ish double digit sack machine EDGE rusher, another top 15 young up and coming EDGE rusher, 2 young star caliber ILB's, a promising young, tall corner, a promising young nickel corner, a FIXED offensive line with Whitehair at RG, a killer run game behind that line with Howard, and Richard. Then it'd all be fun and games this year with Hooker and crew. Other than Hooker. With this team the draft and FA would have went different this offseason otherwise though. But we can knock it outta the park (Draft) the next year or 2 and be just as good.
