What is the best hotel for the best price?

Air B n B my man. I've always been able to save a lot. And you can choose your location. If you know someone that has an account they can refer you, and you'll get 40 dollars off first booking.

What's your "good" price range? I'm always willing to pay a little extra just for the convenience of parking being included and being within walking distance to the stadium, restaurants, and tailgating.

I am coming up Nov 12th for the Pitifulburgh game and would like some hotel recommendations. Thanks in advance for your help.

Where do you want to stay?  I like staying downtown and walking to the stadium.  Parking is not cheap but it beats the hassle of getting stuck in traffic after the game.

I always stay at a Hilton brand, Embassy, Homewood, etc.

I stayed at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel. I'm a Starwood member so I used my points. It's 162 a night for the weekend I'm looking to go (first preseason game). It's right in downtown and walking distance to the stadium. Just bundle up for the walk.

Not sure if they have the best rate, but I always liked Embassy Suites or The Omni. If you don't find something to your liking, just blame Grigson or Pagano. :D

I realize the convenience of being downtown is going to cost more. I just have to decide if it's worth the extra $100 a night because I would think I could get a room for around $100 or less around the.airport

I think all the hotels on game weekends require several night stays so, what i'd do is just go with whoever has the best rate.  Decision point could also be walking distance to the stadium

I don't stay at hotels downtown much.  Stayed at the omni once, it was very nice

Do you know to play percussion instruments? Well, you are in luck.

The Indianapolis Convention Center has a Percussive Arts Society International Convention from November 9th through the 11th and am sure they have discounted hotel pricing:

If that does not work out, you can heed the advice of our forum posters above. :)  To be honest, Indy is easy enough to drive around. Even if you stay away from downtown, and do not mind walking, you can park on Capitol Ave. across the Fifth Third Bank building for probably $5-10 on game day and walk about 5-6 blocks. That is what I have always done, never had to deal with too much traffic coming in or going out if I can use my legs.

Good luck and hope you have a great stay in Indy!!!

We've stayed one night on game weekends many times.  We are season ticket holders from Louisville.  Once in a while we make a day/night of it.  The actual hotel isn't a big deal...what you want to make sure is that it is connected to the mall/stadium/convention center.

That way you park once and never have to drive anywhere for the duration of your stay.

Agree on the parking!!! Get your parking via the ParkWhiz app, or SpotHero apps on your phone, great prices!!!

I did my own parking at a hotel a block away from the Magnificent Mile in Chicago for $40 for 2 days, probably the same place the hotel valet takes it and charges me $65 per day. That was through SpotHero. I told my co-worker and he turned around and did the same and thanked me for the tip.

Then, I found parking in San Francisco downtown a couple of blocks from Pier 33 for $25 for 10 hours when I went to Alcatraz and other places, and a hotel a couple of blocks from my Big Bus Tour starting point for $18 for 10 hours another day, it was a hotel with a wax statue of Robin Williams, so cool. That was through ParkWhiz.

Fair enough. Just remember some downtown hotels include parking, up to $40 cost savings depending on how close you park, and way nicer then airport hotels, I've tried both. Not a bad drive from hotel though, if you go that route.

Maybe we could do one before training camp and pin it for people who visit anytime from training camp to the end of the regular season (and hopefully playoffs)?

Good idea!

If you are staying the night before the game I'd stay at the downtown Marriott and park in the garage across the street from it. You can then walk from your car to hotel and to and from game and never step out side if you don't want. You'll also save the $20 parking on game day if you park in that garage. All the restaurants and bars are within walking distance. There's a good bar in the hotel to eat breakfast and it has beer specials before the game. Cost will depend on what else is happening at the convention center. I've paid from $130-$210. Last year I had season tickets(2014) the jags team stayed their. I think other teams stay there also. Colts don't stay there the night before the game though.

JW Marriot is super nice. One of the best hotels that I've stayed in. Parking is a lot of money though. They charged me like $37/day to park your car there. Ouch.

I believe this is where visiting teams stay as well. You may get lucky and meet somebody.

Yeah, you could run into other teams at that one. I think it's the closest hotel to the stadium and they constantly have police escorts down there. Makes it super easy. I'm only an hour and a half from Indy so we just drive back after the game. We did stay at the JW Marriot a few years ago.

Yeah and it's also on the side kind of so it's not close to all the downtown noise either. I've only stayed downtown once but I remember going to cafe patochou in the morning and seeing the building on the outskirts of downtown but only need to take a couple roads to go straight to LOS

Alright, I underestimated the 5-6 blocks above, it is more like 10 blocks of a walk but hey, I kept walking.

Pull up a map of the Fifth Third Bank at 251 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

It is on Illinois (one way north there) and Capitol Avenue is one-way the other way (south). Lucas Oil Stadium is 500 S. Capitol Ave., so I park at the parking lot just before New York and Capitol and just walk. :)

Last bit of info to get you more accurately closer to what I was talking about.
