Four Rookie QBs With No Mentors

The Bears, Browns, Chiefs and Texans now have rookie QBs. Who do those teams have to teach the new kids the skills to make them starters? If you say Smith on KC will tutor I would say no way he will tutor a rookie to take his job when he is only 32. On this issue how is Trubisky going to learn anything in Chicago when he needs it the most?

With Andrew Luck, we had Matt Hasselbeck, so maybe the solution for these teams is to just hire a really old guy as a backup to a cheap contract and call it a day. Maybe even try convincing one to come out of retirement.

Mike Glennon can help him. Not the best QB, but Glennon was never put in the best position to succeed. I think Mahomes had Andy Reid, the QB Whisperer in his ear. He will be just fine. Now Watson and Kizer on the other hand, won't have the easiest of times.

A coach is a coach and he has the whole team to answer for but a mentor has a job of a slightly different slant, sort of the big brother role to one player. Granted not all QBs don't need one (#12 for example) but that depends on the rookie and many other things. O'Brien is said to get along with all (8) of the QBs he has had except for Osweiller did not like him and Reid has a good rep for being a developer of QBs. The bears go back to the 50's for greatness in the QB category. The Bears GM was on Mike & Mike this morning and sounded like a kid still in high school.
