My Final (and only) Mocks

Recommended Posts

So, this mock is based around players who COULD be available at each pick, and the players that I want us to draft the most. I'm not saying that it's likely that they'll be there, but there is more than a fair chance. The first mock is without trades, the second is with trades. I used Todd McShay's Final Rankings to see who may be available near our pick. The picks on the left are more hopeful picks, while the picks on the right are more likely based on McShay's board.

MOCK 1

Round 1- 15- Reuben Foster ILB- 92 Grade      or       Haasan Reddick ILB- 92 Grade

Round 2- 46- T.J. Watt OLB- 87 Grade (Ranked at 37 OVR)       or     Ryan Anderson OLB- 81 Grade (Ranked at 55 OVR)

Round 3- 80- Sidney Jones CB- 79 Grade (Ranked at 65 OVR)    or   Ahkello Whitherspoon CB- 74 Grade (Ranked at 85 OVR)

Round 4- 121- Shaq Griffin CB- 67 Grade (Ranked at 127 OVR)

137- Cordrea Tankersly CB- 63 Grade (Ranked at 138 OVR)
144- Jamaal Williams RB- 62 Grade (Ranked at 143 OVR)

Round 5- 158- Jeremy McNicols RB- 60 Grade (Ranked at 153 OVR)

ILB, OLB, CB, CB, CB, RB, RB

So, I went with 3 Corners and no DL. May be controversial to some, but I feel like we need more help in the secondary than we do at DL. I also went with 2 RBs. Each have different skill sets, (Williams is more of a power back, whereas McNicols has been compared to Pierre Thomas) and they could both be assets on Offense.

MOCK 2

In this mock, we keep our 1st round pick, but trade back with Denver in the second round to acquire another 3rd round pick. Then we package a third round pick and a 4th round pick to trade up into the the 1st pick of the third round with Cleveland.

Round 1- 15- Reuben Foster ILB- 92 Grade      or       Haasan Reddick ILB- 92 Grade

Round 2- 51- Joe Mixon RB- 84 Grade (Ranked at 47 OVR)

Round 3- 65- Tim Williams OLB- 80 Grade (Ranked at 60 OVR)   or   Derek Rivers OLB- 77 Grade (Ranked at 70 OVR)

82- Sidney Jones CB- 79 Grade (Ranked at 65 OVR)    or   Ahkello Whitherspoon CB- 74 Grade (Ranked at 85 OVR)

Round 4- 137- Shaq Griffin CB- 67 Grade (Ranked at 127 OVR)

144- Cordrea Tankersly CB- 63 Grade (Ranked at 138 OVR)

Round 5- 158- Eddie Vanderdoes DT- 61 Grade (Ranked at 149 OVR)

ILB, RB, OLB, CB, CB, CB, DT

I'm not sure how likely this is, but it IS plausible.

If our draft looked like either one of these, I'd be ecstatic.  Tell me what you think.

If you switch Foster with Reddick and Jones with Whitherspoon, then that first mock is pretty clean.

I'm not a huge fan of Reddick but if we could make a move down a few spots and pick up an extra pick and then take him I would totally be okay with it. Also I like the other Colorado cornerback better. If he was there I'd rather have him. But I did like your first mock better than your second.

I dont like the fact that you took 2 running backs in the first mock but I like the 3 CB in both mocks, maybe 2 CB and a S would be nice too. Also in mock 2 I really want a trade option were we end with 8+ picks just bc I think if we go more then 2 picks on offense, RB OL TE, then that limits what we need to  get in D. But in your mock you only took one offensive player so I am alright with it

    • Happy Draft Day to the folks who are in Indiana! (And east coast) lol. If this actually happens today I don’t know what I would do. Pipe dream or not, I’m READY for this draft to start!
    • Ok, just so I'm reading it right.  You are saying that I responded to another poster by mentioning RG in passing, as a means to bait a lurking you into starting a debate about RG vs CB, for which you feel justified doing because I mentioned RG and Luck's history.   Why don't you just stick to the possibilities of why Ballard might want to draft an olineman high?  That's what I did.
    • Its not even a serious counter, because there was never a tie in made that suggested his injuries were caused by a porous oline in the first place.  That was a tie in made to try tp point out Moose was wrong, when he didn't even tie the two together.  They were separate sentences.   Built into the idea that AR should be protected better is the appearance that AR may be fragile, based upon the situations behind his injuries.  AR was injured.  Ballard may want to protect him better.  The issue of possible fragility is built into it, IMO. is how I read Mooses comments.  Not that it was because of the level of oline protection.
    • Kirk did have the Vikings at the top of the division in the 2022 season at 13-4. He was injured last year. Oh well have fun with your new QB.    You act like I don't know Vikings football, comical because I like the team and follow them a lot. You and @NFLfansay Kirk doesn't know situational football. In 2022 he was the best situational QB in the league. Vikings were 11-0 in games decided by 3 points or less. It is because Kirk handled most situations right. You don't go 11-0 in games 3 points or less and not be a smart QB.
    • Maybe I am the one who will end up with egg on his face but I just don’t get why people think the Colts are actually going to draft an olineman with their first pick.  Nelson and Kelly returned to their pro-bowl playing status.  Raimann looks to be a very good young left tackle and the Colts have made it pretty clear they see Smith as one of the most underrated tackles in football.  They aren’t drafting a right guard in the first round, Nelson was exception, and even then Fries held his own at right guard last year.  They aren’t going to draft a guy who isn’t going to start next year either in the first round.  The starting oline is probably the least of their worries going into this draft.
