Mock Colts Draft by Positional Needs Not Names

Forum brothers, I have loved reading all the mock drafts. If I'm Ballard, I'd be worried one of you is trying to take my job. So many draft prospects that it's hard to say who gets picked; however, instead of specific players, any predictions on draft round and what position will be chosen?

 

Colts have 7 picks in first five rounds. Thanks to Grigson, we have a lot of holes to plug. To avoid making it too complicated for me, I'll suggest only one trade down to add one pick in the draft. That trade down will be in round one for an extra third round player.  IMO we need two cornerbacks, a safety, inside linebacker, outside linebacker (edge rusher), offensive guard and running back and pass rushing defensive end. 

 

Round 1: after trade down, pick linebacker (Reddick or Florida inside backer)

Round 2: cornerback 

Round 3: Offensive Guard 

Round 3 ((extra pick) Linebacker 

Round 4: cornerback 

Round 4: running back 

Round 4: defensive end 

Round 5: Safety

I could be lazy and say BPA with all 7 picks.

 

Seeing as that's a pretty useless reply, here's an example of an outcome I'd be pretty happy with:

 

1) CB

2) EDGE

3) RB

4) CB, ILB, OL

5) Receiving TE

By definition, we will be getting the BPA with each pick.  

 

But I'd switch 1 and 2.

That's how I had it originally. I switched them because I don't really see the value being there for an EDGE at 15.  I'm not sure a guy like McKinley or Harris would be significantly better than one of Bowser/Harris/Rivers/Lawson/Williams.

 

Then again if Conley isn't there then I don't like the value for a CB at 15 either...
