Colts Schedule

Recommended Posts

Wow, 4 NFC West teams in the first 5. Might be good warm ups before playing the tough part of our schedules.

Sunday Night at Seahawks, Monday Night at Titans and Thanksgiving Thursday night vs Broncos (mostly a win).

I LOVE the fact that we have a TON of 1 pm ET games, because for some reason our 1 pm ET performances tend to be good. So, the Steelers game at 1 pm ET, I am hoping is not flexed later.

2 of the final 4 could be snow games. Help them in the playoffs if they have to travel.

Wasn't alive too enjoy it, but I have a lot of late 60's Colts media guides and magazines. NFL coastal division Colts,Rams, 49ers, & Falcons. Colts won it in 68, Rams 69, Colts and Rams both went 11-1-2 in 67 Rams won the tie-breaker on last game of the season in the LA coliseum. payback time!! lol

playing the Texans to end the season, they have won the division with 9-7 records the last two years. Colts 1 game back both times.

That game should be interesting

Split vs Jags and Titans, sweep Houston, beat Steelers (which means they win SB because Myra Kraft dies and Patriots make SB, Art Modell dies and Ravens win SB, Bowlen deals with Alzheimer and Broncos win SB, and Rooney dies, so Steelers at least make SB, not to make light of it but I am into patterns :dunno:), beat Broncos, other losses vs Cardinals and Seahawks, and 1 more loss to Bengals/Ravens but not both.

I am leaning towards 11-5

Always a weird anomaly with the Colts schedule (not saying that's not true of other teams, but...)

Week 15, Thursday night, against the Broncos. Decent matchup, not a Jags or Titans game like it always seems to be (except last year, which was Thanksgiving, so it was going to be a premiere matchup). One of the only positive takeaways from a Thursday night game is that you get 10 days before the next game, right?

Wrong. Week 16, Saturday game. Against the Ravens. On the road.

It's official, the schedulers hate us.

I don't even know who the QB of Houston will be next season? Savage? Yates? Schaub? Carr? Tebow? Kapernick? some college guy that I know nothing about? the Defensive line is scary though.

I'm going to try and go to the season opener in LA.  This is quite a different schedule than what they were getting the last couple of years.  I guess starting off the schedule with division opponents got a little old.

Obviously just looking at it right now we got no idea, but those last 4 games could be pretty tough.

At Buffalo, vs Denver, At Baltimore, vs Houston.

All 4 got good defenses and weather will likely play a big part in the roadies (specifically in buffalo).

Does it matter if all they do is hand it to Lamar Miller for 100 plus yards? :)

The scary line can't score points though

Hopefully our improved Dline will put a stop to that.  Keep my fingers crossed.

Looks like ill be in LA for week 1!

That has been my plan since the Rams moved. Now the schedule is out, and I already have a non-optional engagement that weekend.

Unbelievable. I hate this schedule.

J.J. Watt a couple of years ago was a touchdown machine on both sides of the ball, he didn't do much at all last season.

There is two ways to avoid that

keep them away from the end zone and get away from ours

    •   Overall, an excellent post, but I really want to focus on this part. Though even if Barkley didn't have this issue, I still wouldn't take him at #3.. I don't think RB is worth it.   Barkley doesn't hit lanes inside hard, with violence of someone like Gurley who was just savage at it in college. He tries to bounce outside, to an open space, where he is absolutely fantastic so it's understandable. Just as a pure runner, I don't think he's the best RB prospect to come out in recent years. If the hole isn't there inside, he has bad tendency to stop moving his feet. As you said, can it be coached out of him? And why does it happen. Is he little soft? Overcompensating for bad O-line? Or something else that can be coached out of him?   College football is different than NFL and though Barkley obviously had bad OL, the decision making before LOS for RB is crucial imo. That's one thing where prospects can be evaluated equally, no matter what scheme, competition or OL talent they run behind.   So.. Maybe Barkley won't be bell-cow back? But more like Reggie Bush? Reggie Bush didn't become a great runner until later in his career when his athleticism had declined. How soon will it happen with Barkley? However, there is no denying his athleticism and talent as a receiver. So the ideal usage for him might be more similar to how many scatbacks are used.. But he would probably be even bigger mismatch in the passing game and better runner than best scatbacks in the game today (Lewis, White, Riddick etc.). Or just bigger, more athletic and better pure runner than McCaffrey. I'd actually be more willing to use high pick on that kind of player than RB like Gurley, Elliott and Fournette.
    • It's a different situation because they didn't have the quarterback. We (hopefully!) do.   Look at the way the league is trending. It's all about building a defense that can limit the opposition or having a quarterback who can elevate the play of those around him. If you have both them you're basically the Pats.    Between 2011 and 2016 we spent only 5 of a possible 18 high draft picks on defense (with 4 of those being 3rd rounders!!!) and we've basically been swimming again at the tide of the NFL.   I've never seen a fan base so occupied with offense. It's time to look at what the Championship teams are doing and replicate it.
    • Unless they value the top 3 QBs exactly the same it would be stupid to take Saquan 1st overall and be left with 2nd or 3rd choice at QB.
    •   Thanks, I was wondering whether they were using this or not. Seems to be the perfect tool to train a QB to pick up different defensive schemes etc. Could be good for defense players too.   I would strap it to Green and hope that it would eventually increase his awareness!
