Tedric Thompson is Way Underrated

PFF named him the best coverage defender in college. Not just at safety, but all defenders for 2016.

I'm searching for more tape but he's got special ball skills. Didn't blow up the combine though as his 40 was only a 4.60. But the guy can play. Just needs some beef to his frame. He'll be available in the 4th and would be a steal.

Dang. He might  or be fast, but he's showed some good instincts and explosiveness in those highlights. I'll have to try and watch some full game highlights of him.

It's not what he's best at but that's most FS's. Idk how many times he was asked to tackle though. Apparently none of the DBs from Colorado were great tacklers though.

Tackling is coachable though. And he'll show more of a willingness to do it when he's in a scheme that asks him to do it more. It's not like Darelle Revis or Prime Time were tackle machines.

I remember him from a few games because the announcers brought him up.  He is pretty good in space and has some good instincts.  I am not sure what scouts have said about him.  I would look at him late if he is there though.

Granted he isn't a scout but he's a well respected analyst.

I think I would try to convert him to corner. At 6'1, 205 pounds he's kind of too little to a safety in the NFL , IMO.

Tell that to Bob Sanders who was 5'8' and listed at 206 lbs.

Yeah but Bob was also JACKED. Thompson is no where near as big.

6'0" is the standard size for a safety nowadays. Adams was 5'11". Eric Thomas is 5'10". Tashaun Gipson 5'11". Keanu Neal 6'0". 

 

Ed Reed was 5'11" and 205 pounds. Thompson is in no ways undersized. Could use some beef on his frame but he's a FS. Sanders was a SS so he had to be jacked.
