Kamar Aiken

I really like Aiken.  Catches with his hands for the most part, something Moncrief needs work on (he catches with his body a lot, but does still make plays).  Aiken is apparently a good blocker at receiver from what I've heard.  I'm excited to see how the coaches use him.

moncrief needs to stop being disrespected

He isn't really. I mean he hasn't blown everyone out of the water consistently and has had injury problems. Most ppl can see the talent is there he just needs to have a season where everyone can see it every game. No better time than a contract year haha. I'd love if Aiken Shone as well, We'd actually have two big body fast receivers to go with TY and if Dorsett actually showed up that would be sensational .

Creating competition at every position isn't disrespectful to a player it's paramount to winnng. If your ego gets bruised because someone has an opportunity for your job, go out and beat them. It would be crazy to come out and say Aiken has a chance at WR no 1. I hope Aiken doesn't think that way though.

I think the poster who made the "disrespect" comment was talking about the fan base here,  and not about the franchise in general....    that was my reading of the comment...

For what it's worth....     Aiken's contract details are out....

Aiken,  who made 2.55 Million with Baltimore in 2016,  can make up to 2.6 Million with the Colts in 2017.

He got a million dollar signing bonus.     He gets a million dollar salary.

And he gets up to 600,000 in roster incentives, broken down as 37,500 for every week he's on the active roster.

The signing bonus is guaranteed.....   and 500k of his salary is guaranteed...

Here's his profile page from Spotrac....

Thought this was funny

It's obvious that the WR signing has gotten to Moncrief. Hopefully he isn't mad and will just be lazy now because he feels "they're sleeping on him". Have it give him motivation to proof himself more.

in a contract year, I think he'll play lights out, sadly, it'll price him out of our realm and into some other teams as he'll be that much less likely to re-sign with us if he truly feels disrespected.

I don't see that it got to him. His name was brought up and he basically said that he's not worried and that he will answer criticism with his play on the field.

I think him responding, "ha" and saying "they still sleeping" made it obvious that the signing ticked him off. That's just my opinion of course. If so, I just would like to see him do really well and not hold some sort of grudge against the Colts just because they've signed competition.

I like seeing Moncrief get riled up over this.  He obviously has some great physical tools, so I like to see him being confident.  He didn't cry and complain, he isn't whining to the media.  I think he's channeling his anger/upset feelings in the right way.

If he can stay healthy, I think he has what it takes to be a #1 receiver.  Having a healthy Hilton and Moncrief on the field at the same time is like having two #1s out there.  If the coaching staff properly utilized them, the offense would be that much better.

Seems like Dorsett is the one sleeping. With Aiken being bigger and more proven, this could be Dorsett's last year as a Colt if he doesn't step it up.

It may be tough for Dorsett to beat out Aiken.  If Dorsett does beat out Aiken for the 3rd spot, if he starts dropping balls I'm sure Aiken will see immediate play time.  I don't know why but Aiken kind of reminds me of Anquan Boldin a little bit. . . . . .

    • You think the Ed Dodds you see in edited clips here is the same as the Ed Dodds who interviews with teams?   I don’t know you or anyone would think that?      He’s very much respected around the NFL which is why multiple teams ask to interview with them most every year.

    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
