The Bengals took a guy with big upside, but they took a guy who's most glaring weaknesses were flexibility, bend and closing speed and then decided to stick him on the end.  Pointless and a waste if you ask me.  He was never really in a position to succeed in Cincy in the first place.  He was projected as a 3-4 DE and that's where he'll most likely move to where he'll operated as a 3 and 5 tech.  If he ever lives up to the potential that got him drafted in the 2nd, he'll have a better chance here than in Cincy.  

 

I'm not expecting a world beater, but Ballard clearly sees the upside in a player who was never utilized to his strengths, and instead, put in a position that his physical shortcomings could never really overcome.

Langford regressed also in the 4/3. Maybe this will be a blessing for him. Hope to see some batted balls at least
