Draft picks and their value???

Hello fellow Colts fans

 

Im trying to get my head around how a draft pick is valued, lets say in a trade of draft picks or a player trade.

 

So can someone try to explain how it works to me, or send me in the right direction with a link to a site, where its all explained.

 

I follow the draft and the colts very closely, but just can't figure out how a pick is valued.

There is a table in the draft resources section that shows each pick's value in a trade. Link below.

Should be all you need. Future picks usually count for less.

future picks are roughly worth one round lower than this years.  maybe less for late round picks

So you're telling me I can trade the #1 overall pick for 3,000 7th round picks?

 

I think I'd do it.

 

Imagine the phone call, hey Seattle, I'll give you #1 overall for your n ext 3,000 7th round picks, deal? lol

nah, future picks decline in value after the next year.  i would need at least 6000 7th round picks

If Grigson had 6000 draft picks in the 7th round the next many years, he would still miss 5999 players with talent.
