There's nothing wrong with bringing in a cheap punter who will more than likely compete with young UDFA or a late rounder for a roster spot.

 

I like how active Ballard is. Not every signing will be glamorous and scripture worthy.

He is better then nothing and another guy or two might be brought in to try out later. Keep in mind replacing Pat won't be easy, he was one of the best at it so a drop off might have to happen at the moment.
