Colts have scheduled a private workout with top rated punter in this year's draft - Idaho's Austin Rehkow:

Idaho

Two quick notes from last week’s pro day at Idaho.

Weather kept Austin Rehkow from working out.  Rated by many as the top punter in the draft, Rehkow also did kick-offs during his combine workout.  In high school Rehkow hit a field goal from 64 yards.  He has a workout scheduled with the Indianapolis Colts.

Colts showed interest in Army LB Andrew King:

Quote

Andrew King connected with scouts from the Chiefs, Falcons and Colts at the East-West Shrine Game two months ago. The same three scouts drove to West Point on Friday to watch King participate in Army's Pro Day with teammates Xavier Moss, Edgar Poe and Eddy Ruzga.

Scouts representing the Jets and 49ers also were on hand. "Our program is shifting and more NFL scouts at the next level are taking notice," King said. "That's great to see scouts here."

King, a three-year starting linebacker, projects as a middle linebacker at the next level. He benched 225 pounds 17 times on Friday and his vertical jump of 36.5 inches was the best among Army players.

King's day ended with a twist. Scouts gave him a look at fullback.

"I carried the ball in high school and I've been missing that,'' King said. "Maybe if they are looking for a lead blocker in the off chance. I'll play wherever special teams, if you want me to shield on a punt, I'll do that."

Colts attended Rutgers safety Anthony Cioffi's pro-day. They asked him to run WR routes in addition to his DB drills:

Quote

Declaring him the next Julian Edelman would be premature, but Anthony Cioffi offered glimpses on Friday of the versatility he promises to bring to an NFL roster.

Lined up at the 50-yard line, lunged over with his hands swaying, Cioffi darted downfield, made two quick cuts to the inside and turned his head around as he hauled in the football.

A defensive back by trade during his Rutgers days, Cioffi is out to show NFL scouts that he can bring much more to the table. Representatives from the Colts and Chargers wanted to see the 22-year-old prospect run through a receiver route tree set inside the Rutgers Indoor Practice Bubble. Cioffi was happy to oblige.

“It was fun catching the ball, getting back on offense,” Cioffi, a Springfield native, said during Rutgers Pro Day. “I haven’t done it since high school, but it felt natural just going out there, catching the ball, running routes.”

The idea, Cioffi said, was his uncle’s back when Cioffi was down training at Chip Smith Performance Systems in Georgia earlier this winter. Joey Cioffi, a former tight end at Monmouth, suggested Anthony Cioffi get some reps in with Peerless Price, the facility’s wide receivers coach, to showcase his value.

Cioffi opted to focus on defensive back drills at the time, but as he prepared to participate in Friday’s Pro Day, the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder brought the idea to Rutgers strength and conditioning coach Kenny Parker’s attention.

“He was like, ‘I’m all for it, but don’t look like a * going out there looking crazy,’” Cioffi said with a laugh. “I don’t think I did. I think I did pretty well.”

In total, 23 scouts from 21 of the 32 NFL teams were in attendance to see 12 former Scarlet Knights perform combine tests and position drills. Three of those scouts were from the Giants.

Cioffi hoped to run a sub-4.4 40-yard dash after he revealed his explosion in Georgia with a personal-best 4.30, but had to settle for an official 4.50 on Friday. Andre Patton, a 6-foot-6, 198-pound wide receiver prospect, topped the field with a 4.40.

Cioffi’s other metrics included a 9’ 6’’ broad jump, 11.40-second 60-yard shuttle and 6.90-second 3-cone drill.

One of Rutgers’ more intriguing prospects as a potential late-rounder/undrafted free agent, Cioffi says he will participate in local pro days with the Giants and Jets next month.

Whichever franchises grant him opportunities, Cioffi feels capable of contributing whether it’s in the secondary, on kickoff coverage, punt blocking, kick returning or, yes, even catching balls on offense.

“I felt like I improved, but there’s still no ceiling for me,” Cioffi said. “I always want to continue to get better at no matter what I do. I still feel like (there are) numbers I could beat. It’s just something where the numbers are set now, so we could go off that.”

Colts were at Zach Cunningham's pro-day.

Colts also met with Maryland RB Trey Edmunds at his proday.

Cunningham is interesting. Overrated early in the season as he's arguably the worst tackler in this draft and his coverage skills aren't really seen in tape. He's a project. But I wonder if he's the type of LB that Ballard likes. Could be a day 1 or 2 pick.

Colts attended S Lorenzo Jerome's pro-day workout. This is after they met with him at the Senior Bowl. Seems like we really like him. I just can't stomach his mockdraftable web:

That's the ugliest thing I've seen in quite some time.

Keion Adams, LB/EDGE, from Western Michigan has a visit scheduled with the Colts:

Colts met with Shaquill Griffin, CB, Central Florida at his pro-day yesterday. Griffin has good size and length and had an amazing showing at the combine.

Colts were at Penn State's pro-day too:

A Colts scout had a quick chat with ILB Brandon Bell at the pro-day:

A scout from the Colts was at Boston College's pro-day and according to reports was paying special attention to QB Patrick Towels. I have no idea why, here are his stats.:

YESSS!!!! I've seen a majority of Pascal's career at ODU and he's been amazing. He's not a burner, but he's a solid WR that catches just about anything thrown his way.

This is really weird - I just put Griffin on my ongoing mock as a Colt 4th rounder today and made Towles an UCFA of ours. Of course, it was after reading about their PD results, so the events are related...

I can't imagine we aren't there in some capacity. Based on that info, Pagano may not be there, but DC, LB coach, or even Ballard could be there.

All the information is on film anyway.   And the Colts have already talked to Raekwon Mcmillan already.   They are probably there though.   They usually always make it to the Ohio State pro day.

Source on them talking to McMillan? That's interesting if they did. He's been popping up as a 2nd round pick for us for a few months now.

They also need to be looking at Conley though.

Colts showing significant interest in Cincinnati LB Eric Wilson!!! After meeting him at his pro-day, they have now invited him for an individual workout/visit in Indy:

He ran sub 4.5 40, bench pressed 25 reps and jumped 39.5" at his proday.

I will probably need to pay more attention and watch more of him.

Keon Adams is a really solid ball player.  I've watched two of his games and he wrecks shop.    Good prospect.
