32nd best front seven

I know the majority want the Colts to resign Walden.

But I'd rather they let him walk.

32. Indianapolis Colts

Top overall grade: LB Edwin Jackson, 61.6

Lowest overall grade: OLB Erik Walden, 41.2

The grades above speak for themselves. Two other teams this year had their worst starter in the front-seven grade out better than the Colts’ best starter. Indianapolis pressured opposing quarterbacks on a comically-low 25.4 percent of their dropbacks, despite blitzing at a higher rate than the league average.

I had us letting him go in my mock draft. The fact he was our best pass rusher is also pathetic. We need to let all the old worthless players walk this offseason.

Think about how good we'll be next year though.

We beat the Packers, though, and Clark had one solid game against the Vikings.  Trust me, once the 2017 rationalization train finally leaves the station, that will be enough to sustain this forum for the next 8 months.

It definitely doesn't tell the whole story. But in this instance, it kind of does.

Because this defense sucks.

maybe we use the first pick on D, then get some o-line help in the draft and FA... but many draft picks will be D, especially if some can't be re-signed.  So, what Linebacker or D-end do we take? best available? Foster would be great but needs to improve pass-coverage skills so they say.

  • Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama. Height: 6-1. ...
  • Zach Cunningham*, ILB, Vanderbilt. Height: 6-4. ...
  • T.J. Watt*, ILB/OLB, Wisconsin. Height: 6-5. ...
  • Jarrad Davis*, ILB/OLB, Florida. Height: 6-2. ...
  • Raekwon McMillan, ILB, Ohio State. Height: 6-2. ...
  • Anthony Walker*, ILB/OLB, Northwestern. ...
  • Kendell Beckwith*, ILB, LSU. ...
  • Ben Boulware, ILB, Clemson.

Rueben Foster falling to us would be a * miracle, I would cry tears of joy.

But I really like Cunningham, Davis and McMillan as far as ILBs. The only name on that list I don't like is Boulware.  There's quite a few good edge rushers and corners that could be there at #15 too. It's a good draft class for D.

Just yes....Take them all....in all honesty we need like 4 new LBs and even with a 50% hit rate we may just barely fix one portion of our defense lol.
