Colts @ Vikings Game Day Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi, Colts fans!   :)   A battle of NFL teams alive in the playoff hunt for the postseason, as our Indianapolis Colts are in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area to play the Minnesota Vikings. Colts are playing their first road game in Minnesota for the first time in eight years, and a win by the Colts over the Vikings  on Sunday afternoon,  would both even their season record to 7-7, and also stay in the hunt for at least an AFC Wild Card Playoff spot, in both teams 25th all-time meeting.

Indianapolis is  coming from an embarrassing game  they and their fans rather forget  Sunday, as the Houston Texans made a season sweep over the Colts for the first time in their history,  winning 22-17 at LOS (the building) last Sunday.

However, into Sunday's game, the Colts have an advantage over the Vikings in their history between the teams,  Indianapolis is on a current four-game regular season winning streak over Minnesota.  Vikings last defeated the Colts during the regular season 19 years ago,  with their 39-28 win over the Colts, and played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome back on December 21, 1997.

Indianapolis leads the all-time series entering this afternoon with 16 wins and 7 losses, including one postseason game (Colts 24-14 win back in 1968).    Adam Vinatieri kicked the game-winning field goals for the Colts in the last two meetings. AV kicked his 53-yard FG at Indianapolis with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to help the Colts win 23-20 on September 16, 2012.

Vinatieri also kicked the game-winning 47-yard field goal  with three seconds remaining to help the Colts defeat the Vikings by the score of 18-15in their recent road visit, and last road game at the Metrodome, back on September 14, 2008.

Also fortunately for this game both the Colts, and Vikings, are also playing inside the the dry comforts, of the  new $1.13 billion  dollar U.S. Bank Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis, at the same site and footprint where the Metrodome stood.  By the 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time gametime, the weather forecast outside the U.S. Bank Stadium is  sunny skies at  minus -14 degrees, feels like minus -30 degrees, along with 5% precipitation, 64% humidity, and southwest winds at 6 miles per hour.

NO injuries, stay Colts Strong for your seventh win, and LET'S GO COLTS!!!!!    :coltslogo:   :1colts:  :colts:  :coltshelmet::coltslogo:

Thanks LOS. Our team has been so inconsistent all season. I have labeled us an Average team. A team that will probably now go 8-8 or 7-9. We are a team that has a Good/sometimes Very Good QB but a team that has a Bad Defense and questionable play calling = Average team overall. They have a pretty big advantage when it comes to their D.LIne vs our O.Line. It will be interesting to see how Andrew handles their pressure. I am still really not over last week because to me that was a Playoff game and a game we had no business losing but it is what it is.

Thanks LOS :)  I'm sure the players are grateful they aren't playing outside tomorrow  LOL.  Hoping for a good game and no more injuries.

GOOOOO Colts !!!

Welp as with every single game it looks like it's going to be on Luck, Hilton, Gore, Vinny and Pat.  Good start w the triple though.

Good start..I didnt want Andrew trying to get those final 2 yards for the first down with 5  Vikings there..

But why not go for it there on 4th down?

Solid start, I would have went right back to Doyle though after that first completion to him and used the hurry up

    • I'm not that worried at the moment, but I'm also a patient optimist.   Que @P'Son and @throwing BBZ :   "Luck is done, you're all blind, quit drinking the kool aid" ... or something like that...       I didn't need Peyton Manning to watch the Colts, and I don't need Andrew Luck to watch the Colts.  Being a fan of a losing team isn't always fun, but part of being a fan is rooting for your team even when they are 4-12 or 2-14.    Go Colts!
    • I'm giving Luck this year and that's it. I think he'll be fine only because we traded down in the draft and didn't take a QB. That's the ONLY reason the FO has any credit with me at this point about Luck. I don't think they'd sabotage the team just to push the narrative a 2nd time, especially when we had such a high draft pick. Right now, though, it's too early to tell from our point of view whether Luck will be ready for the start of the season or not. One negative thing about science and medicine is that it affects everyone's body differently. Luck may be on the poor side of it with his injury.    Giving the FO the benefit of the doubt with Luck's injury right now. However, if they miscalculated his recovery a 2nd time, and didn't draft a QB either to replace him and he doesn't play this season. I'm not watching this year. Brissett is a good backup, but last year was absolutely brutal, and even a new coaching staff won't make this a winning team with Brissett at QB. We need Luck back, or the season is a lost cause. Don't care what Ballard and Reich say about it not being about one man. It's a QB driven league. It was about Peyton and it's about Luck. That quote is just ridiculous.
    • Trust me when say this. Luck is throwing. He has restrictions though. The last headline I seen was “Luck isn’t throwing without restrictions”. I also believe their not advertising it. Reggie isn’t in this building just helping the receiver group.
    • It’s pretty much everyday someone has a new terrible theory on luck. It’s exhausting. Can’t we just be optimistic, especially considering he’s had zero setbacks this time around and his shoulder is holding up throwing balls heavier than a regulation football. It’s also held up to his weight training program. Luck will be fine.    The actual people involved are saying he will be fine and looks great. (Physically and mentally)    I think they know more than anyone on this forum.
    • Likewise, but Hankins still remains unsigned. Find that kind of odd...
