Dude was brought in to give us the pass rush we were missing.  Never was able to do that.  Welp, thanks for the time Cole.

He injured his back during the first week, and came back last week.

I can't remember anything memorable from him. He's not a difference maker anymore, at least give the younger guys more playing time.

Yeah, laugh it up everyone. The guy who is going to replace him is going to be even less productive. Cole had a hard time finishing here but he did create pressure and set the edge well.

Time to move on, Cole was basically a non factor on the defense.  It was a good experiment, but I think age just like Father Time played into it.....

That's a bummer but I didn't have high expectations for him as is.

I mean we're not losing much, but this still hurts a little more than you'd think unless Maggitt or somebody steps up. But I mean. We should have cut him this past offseason and brought in a FA or 2, and drafted an EDGE rusher or 3.

Options are kind of limited.  Not sure which way they will turn on this one.Bates is still kind of green behind the ears with the pass rushing.  I do think he can set an edge though.  Wouldn't be surprised for them to seek veteran help, but there's not a whole lot out there.

Our D is a less productive bunch to begin with. For the dough he was getting, his return was in pennies.

He took a pay cut. He was getting like 2-3 mil this year, which is fair for both sides.

D'Qwell Jackson (Morrison can take his place as the hard hitting run stuffer)

Art Jones (Too expensive for not being available enough)

Trent Cole (Doesn't provide the pass rush needed, plus he's old)

Never happy to see a guy get injured.  He was apparently playing decently well this year, though I can't say I noticed him much.  This probably ends his tenure as a Colt.

Cole was basically the equivalent of a rotational pass rusher anyway. He had 68 snaps through 3 games and only 41 pass rush snaps. Walden was getting the majority with 62. Mathis has had 83. Maggit will likely see more time but Ayers might see more snaps to

He may not have stood out, but he played a part in how well we were against the run. Our front 7 is more of a product of how we play as a whole, rather than great individual players.

Cole was better than most in this thread realize.  I imagine Ayers gets the majority of his snaps and either Mount or Bates come up from the PS.  Unless there's a player on someone else's PS they like.

Always hate when a player gets hurt, but its not like Cole was doing anything that Maggit or Ayers can't do.

Don't forget Mathis, he's old too and not producing.  Definitely lost a step or two.  His playing time could be cut any time now.
