Duke loses to SC

I knew there was a reason my gut said to stay away from them this year.

Duke is the kind of team that gets stronger and stronger as the tournament goes further. If you need to take them down, have to do it before the elite 8. Otherwise, they mostly make it to the finals.

Man, the SEC teams look seasoned in close games - Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas almost taking down NC, and now South Carolina. Everyone watches SEC football but their basketball outside KY can tend to be ignored compared to Big Ten or ACC (1 out of 5 in second round this year, terrible).

Congratulations Sir, that was a good game! OT, and it was really a lot closer then the final score due to fouls there at the end. Great Job ladies, way to fight till the end!

I am not sure  I have a feeling both fanbases are very happy with their teams win and watching their rivals lose

I noticed this but could never describe it. With Duke they either go the distance or get that stunning early upset.

My dad has UCLA over Arizona in the finals. And he isn't that bad at this, he sometimes picks the darkhorses right. Not many years back when UConn won it all he is the only one I know who picked them.

Two years ago I was right with Duke winning it all. I just had a hunch on Duke that year since everyone was nuts on Kentucky.

Last year, we both had the epic madness of picking Michigan St. who went one and done. lmao

This year? I picked the Kansas Jayhawks over Gonzaga in the finals. Why? No idea. I think we live in Oz anyway now so might as well go with Kansas. lmao  Also, Kansas to me is a team very very due to go far again.......gonna click my red heels and make it happen.

I will probably be wrong since I was haunted that I should pick Duke again and almost did. But, picking Duke every other year is NOT fun. I was counting on Villanova to pave the way to knock out Duke but now that looks over.

I read Duke is the Vegas favorite and always has been. I love Coach K, but I don't really "LIKE" Duke.

Yeah between UCLA and Arizona, that is tough. Freakin Duke lost! Kansas is a solid pick.

I am relieved I at least made it this far this year with my picks after last years disaster. Since I was "that close" to picking Duke again to repeat a few years ago. And when I say that close I mean that close to picking them.

I am glad Duke lost too since while I like Coach K his team is freaking annoying.

I actually deep down wanted to pick UCLA but didn't since my dad did and we try to be different so I went with Kansas. Hell I tried it with the Chiefs so might as well with basketball. Kansas is good though.......just hope they can go a bit farther to get me some bragging rights this year.

I have Gonzaga too but man I don't even know. It's totally all up in the air for the final 2 to me at the moment.

Yeah I picked UCLA, we both made the Sweet 16 this season. After last seasons embarrassment of picking Izzo's choking bunch haha.

Very tough game. I have huge respect for KY but I think UCLA is slightly better this season.

It is very hard to beat a team twice in one season

True but Alford is due to go to the Final 4. Lonzo Ball is a Great player, Leaf is a monster inside too, and Alford's kid is a sharp shooter. It's really a crapshoot though, all it takes is 1 bad shooting game and your out.

I never believed that saying.   Not sure about the NCAA, but Butler beat Villenova twice this year.

In the NFL, since 1970 , 19 times teams have met for the 3rd time in an NFL season. Out of those 19 times , 12 times the same team won the 3rd game. Giving them a winning percentage of 70%.

Lots of close games that didn't end up with the underdog winning.   I was rooting for Michigan State, Alabama, Wichita State, Rhode Island and Arkansas.   They were all close most of the game.

ACC was a bust with only 1 of the 9 teams remaining.

As much as I'd like to see the Boilers make it to the Elite Eight, I think Kansas has just way too much firepower for Purdue to keep up with them

Boilers, but only because I'm being a hometown Homer, Kansas will be tough.

They're going to have to slow Kansas down and Swanigan and Haas are going to have to use their size to outwork them, it's going to be tough!

Tough draw for sure...but Purdue had hung with some pretty good teams...lost to Villanova (yeah I know they're out of tournament lol) by 3 to start season, and Purdue has gotten better. If Purdue brings their A game and stays out of foul trouble, they might be able to win this game.

So my hometown (adopted) Gonzaga Bulldogs just took care of the Mountaineers.....are we looking at a fight between the GU & Butler Bulldogs in Glendale? My mom & sister will be * if GU wins (Butler Alum).

I would love to see Bulldogs vs Bulldogs. Gonzaga looking like they may have a team that can win it all.

Getting out of reach for Boilers:thmdown: turnovers are killing them, 13 so far. Need to swing momentum or its over. Swanigan playing like trash.

Hate Kansas but they are fun to watch. Josh Jackson is a stud.

Hope my Wildcats can take UCLA down tonight. Should be a good one.

    • I love the talent in their def but I think luck had Wades number lol he's eaten up his defense  in wins/losses
    • A punch to the gut was how it was said to be by Pritchard. Bird sure left Pritchard a total mess. None of this is surprising to me about how the NBA direction is going. None of this is ever going to change as long as there is not a hard cap and the NBA gets paid for super stars getting put on the same teams. This started years ago with the Celtics. They always had the best teams money could buy and then when the cap come in they invented what is called the Larry Bird exception. Then the NBA seen the chance to cash in by letting teams pay them for going over the cap. Then the owners were getting paid by high dollar TV deals and couldn't care less about putting winners on the court as long as they were making money. Now the NBA is made popular by fans who really are not interested in watching basketball played in it's original form. All they want now is highlight dunks and three pointers. Defense has been lost forever right along with traditional basketball. Sad for those who remember the real basketball.
    • Fact is Pagano went 8-8 without Luck after using 5 different QBs with one of them coming right off the street. But it's things like this that gets overlooked by those who choose to. Moral superiority?? You have to be joking. That's even taking it over the top and is getting to the point of pure unaltered childishness.
    •     Sounds like we are seriously considering Lance Stephenson at starting point guard if Jeff Teague's     price is to high..   ..I know he's motivated to play hard and well but that's not something I'd be considering
    • Thank you. I saw that after reading up a little bit on him. I clearly missed that. My bad.
