Are there any good teams in CBB this year? Gonzaga is probably the closest but they don't really play anybody either. The tournament should be interesting this year.

I don't really care who wins in womens.

In mens, I'll be pulling for Purdue, Gonzaga and of course the underdogs.    I don't think Butler has enough this year to make a run.   Their runs in 2010 and 2011 to make it to the championship games was nothing short of amazing for a school this size.

IU has fired HC Tom Crean

Mixed feelings on this one.  This year was rough... but two outright titles in 5 years isn't something to scoff at.  I know a lot of fans have wanted him gone for a while, but I don't quite understand that.  Who might be some possible replacements?

I never cared for him.  This season it's been pretty obvious that he couldn't get his team to play.   I think firing him was almost decided when they couldn't make the NCAA tourney, then when IU failed to show up in the first NIT game and got beat, he signed his papers.

Wouldn't that be a lateral move for him?  Really less than lateral as UCLA has a top 10 team.  But they will be losing their best player.   I'm not sure who IU has coming in.

Ball is the team

The Middle Ball is not as good as Lonzo and the youngest will only be a Junior

Notre Dame Lady Irish debut tonight

With the first round of the mens tourney going on, why the heck would they start play today?

He is an Indiana alum.

Yep...but I think the buyout of 7 million would be what would stop him. It's clear UCLA alum never liked him and he was almost gone last year....so its a possibility....if I was him I'd jump while he is on top....because unless he thinks he is going to stay there that crowd has no loyalty to him as opposed to what he would get here.

I will say after Glass's conference...its going to have to be some pretty big BB pedigree to take this job....because the lofty rhetoric he used he will be laughed out of the state if he doesn't deliver a big name. It's a long shot but guys like Billy Donavon, Steve Alford, and Tony Bennett have to be high up on the list...with guys like Archie Miller or Bryce Drew likely fall backs.

So far I'm 3 for 3 on upsets: Middle Tennessee State, USC, and Rhode Island (game is still on, but they're winning).

For the most part this has been a day of favorites

Oregon State and Missouri are in trouble on the Women's side

Alford would be #1 Brad Stephens 2  ,Billy Donavon 3, Bryce Drew 4 , I have been led to believe Brad has interest in this job from some circles.

MTSU is impressive. I think they took out Michigan State last year.

As a non IU fan I think IU did the right thing in firing Crean. Hes a solid coach, but I don't think he was the right guy to take IU to that next level. I think the sweet 16 was his ceiling at IU, which isn't good enough.

They had to make the change IMO. But they need to nail the hire. I think Alford would be a good choice. Has obvious IU ties, and hes done a pretty dang good job at UCLA. I think most IU fans would be happy to have the kind of season they are right now.

I did not think of Brad Stevens. That would be an excellent choice. Alford would be more popular with alums but I think Stevens is a better coach. There are not too many coaches as good as Stevens. And he is a young guy who could be there for many years.

Not saying it is accurate just stating facts

Not arguing the facts because I heard him say it.

haha They won't be telling him to go any time soon. But this would not be the first or last time a coach says he is not leaving his current job to take another.
