More watched SB 50 in Nashville than Denver

Super Bowl 50 ratings are a little odd..

the No.1 market for the Super Bowl was Nashville, Tennessee....a 57.7 share

..more people watched in Indianapolis (54.6) than in Denver (53.9) ......the number is a percentage (out of 100) of TV sets that were in use

..any theories?  Were thousands who would have watched in Denver..in California?

More watched in Norfolk, Virginia (56./8) than in Greensboro, North Carolina (56/.7)

Why were the hometown or home states not the top viewing markets?

Ha, not sure about that!!!

just taking guesses, as i assume many folks in Colorado watched the big game...

Glad to see you back around Bayone!

Its just playoff spirit & Peyton love joy , then will shut off comments as to many priorities & taking off from alot of PT work right now , but thanks, but back next year when Luck wins SB

I have cousins  inDenver, belive me there were many a group party watching the game , your thesis holds true

I don't think this necessarily means more people watched in Nashville than Denver.

Only that a higher percentage of households watched.

That's not the same.

I would have no idea....    but again,  it's not more total households,  it's a greater percentage of households.

Nashville has about 570,000 residents....    Denver has about 650,000.

Perhaps you have found a glitch in the system,  and I'm not being facetious....   I'm being serious....

Something doesn't add up.....   good catch by you....

If it is percentage of households, that makes more sense..that's a good point

Denver people would be gathering or traveling to watch live..

Nashville folks would be watching but probably not in large party groups.

Peyton is an absolute icon in Tennessee....probably more so than in Denver.

Thanks..I actually think you cleared it up

I think that the main explanation you are overlooking is demographics and lifestyle.  What people do with their time is simply different in Denver, at least for enough of them to lower the viewing percentage.

I don't know that the love of football is any different in Denver than it is in Nashville.

I think NCF has the correct answer
