I think a coach Jim Irsay might have had in mind politely declined to join the Colts at this time.  For what reason (if my speculation is even on target) I am not sure.  Grigson?  Timing?  Need to see more promising players added from the next draft?  Other???

I think the fact the Colts went 8-8 with 4 different QBs made Irsay want to be patient for another season.
