Primetime Vs Pittsburgh

Now that it looks like the Seahawks are going to pull out this slugfest against the Steelers, and taking into consideration how the Colts have taken care of business with Hasselbeck.  What is everybodies expectations/predictions for our last primetime game.  Steelers are a good team. Both teams are 6-5 and I still think the Colts have a great shot at winning this game on the road.

Looks like Roethlisberger isn't finishing the final 2 minutes for whatever reason!  Heading to the locker room early as well.  Is there any concern on his part?  What should the gameplan be?   What matchups will be key?  This is going to be a tough game for both teams, that need a win as the playoffs are looming around the corner.

I honestly like our defense way better against Pitts. Seattles defense is not like it was or expected. We all saw how Pitts destroyed them and every other team seattle has played put up big numbers. I'm hoping though that Luck comes back for this game. If not Matt is gonna have to play more like a game changer then a game manager!

Big Ben left with a concussion.

was it confirmed?  I figured it was just a precaution to follow the protocol.  I think it would take a Sherman tank to keep him out of a nationally televised game next week.  And with the game already decided tonight, I think their coach gave it the ok to get him to the locker room for evaluation.

I'm afraid the we might not have the personnel to contain all of their offensive weapons. We saw last night that even if you can get Brown, Williams, and Bryant in check, they've still got Wheaton and Miller. The outliers are Ben's health and Pittsburgh's secondary though, but are they enough?

ThIs is the hardest game left on the schedule. I would be surprised if the Colts win this one.

No one can forget last year.  They have three receivers that can run past our DBs again.

Their D isn't that great though.  We really need to play the same game as the last few weeks.  Ball control.  Hopefully we're able to run on Sunday.

A shoot out isn't going to work in our favor.

Ben finished the drive where he took the hit and then he took himself out.  That's key to this... The doctors didnt feel it was neccessary to take him out but he chose to sit.... If the doctors didnt force him off, I doubt he sits the next game.

Pass rush will be the key. The secondary is going to need all the help they can get to cover those receivers. Steelers always seem to have our number, especially in Pittsburgh. Like what we did getting after Winston, going to need even more next week.

This right here will be the key to the game. Even if BR sits. Disrupt the QB, limit the running game, and create overall chaos in the backfield. We have enough to worry about from the Steelers defense. We need to corral either the offense/defense or both in order to have a good solid chance of winning this game in Pittsburgh before a national Sunday Night Football audience.

Ahhh, I see.  Yea, that would suggest you are correct.

If it turns into a shootout, I find it difficult to imagine Hass putting up huge numbers. Could he throw the ball 40 times for 350-400 yards?!? Perhaps, I guess.

With that being said, our defense is better than the one that took the field last time these two teams met.

I favor Pitt is this contest, but if Ben is out, we can tame the beast and onus in Pittsburgh.

Ben will play. Weather doesn't look to be a factor.

If we want to win we win turnovers, win field position, limit Pitts opportunities on offense.

Hopefully Adams will be back asking for Castonzo might be wishful thinking.

Pass rush has improved that will need to continue. I think we will be able to move the ball Pitt hasn't really stopped anyone all year.

It will be tough on the road Sunday night. Pitt coming off a loss. They have a pretty tough schedule need this one at home.

If Matt continues to protect the ball. Ben will take chances we can win some 50/50 balls on the backend. We win the turnover battle maybe Adam adds another game winning field goal to the record book.

I hope I don't get beat up in here to bad for saying this but if Ben plays I think we lose this one (I mean I pick us every week). If Ben doesn't though, I pick us. Hass is just due to lose 1 and being on the road vs this team will be very tough! We will have to put up probably around 30 points if Ben plays. I see something like 31-24 Steelers.

The coach has nothing to do with OKing anything to do with a concussion.

If the Colts can play a very clean game, NO turnovers & limited penalties, we have a higher than expected shot of winning this thing. Disrupt the backfield, put BR on his too-too 4/5 times, and play man-to-man DB coverage throughout the entire game & make them run the ball.

    • I would but would want a deal where it was a third round pick, but couldn’t see Saints doing that.  Woukd have a high end CB and still have our top two picks
    • nice     Edit:   Also both the trades mentioned here pretty much followed the draft value chart.     Talking trading up to #38 from #44 and offering a 4th   Difference in #38 and #44 is 60pts(avg 4th round value)   Ended up trading up to #41 from #44 for a 5th.   Difference in #41 and #44 is 30pts(avg 5th round value)
    • Our defense will never be GREAT as long as we play * defense by having corners 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 3. And an unbelievable unwillingness to blitz more than 4 times a game. And also, it doesn't matter who is in the secondary if the front seven can't stop the run(we can) and get to the passer(we did ok getting to the passer, but we need more blitzing from lb'ers). Our first pick should be an offensive lineman like Fuaga, Powers-Johnson, or Barton. Then target a receiver like Polk, Pearsall, Washington, Corley, or Roman Wilson in the second or third rounds. As much as I would like to get Bowers I just don't see it happening. And we need a very good linebacker to go along with Speed and Franklin.
    • Yeah, could very well be. I think I remember Ballard said he did it to have more flexibility when asked. if it is Paye, I would rather see him play out the year before extending.
    • The idea of DeJean going in the late first round is due to his instincts and overall very competent play in nearly all aspects of DB play.  Cover 3 FS is more valuable, IMO, than a cover 2 FS.   Contrast DeJean's overall RAS and talents with Hooker, who was only good at being a single high deep guy...especially his rookie year where he picked off bad QBs for a while...and DeJean at 22 or later with a 3rd round pick gathered from a trade down is a much better decision than Hooker was at 15.   BTW, Blackmon had the same ACL injury as Hooker and did well as an overall S as a rookie, but wasn't a single high speed guy, and is probably still a better overall S now than Hooker is in DAL...both having the exact same injury years ago.
