He probably hasn't carried the ball since junior high. Give him a break.

Lance Louis actually developed into a serviceable guard end of last year and into the PO.  I don't believe he played much this year due to Herreman coming in, then I think he got hurt.  So I don't think it will be this disaster if he is called upon.

I agree, I thought Lance was showing some improvement at the end of last season and even in the preseason I didn't think he looked bad.  But, Louis was the starting LG the first two games of the season.  He was not as bad as Herremans but he was a close 2nd worst.

Two:    Because EVERY team (OK, maybe not New England)  has questionable OL on their roster.    That's what happens in a 32 team NFL.    There just aren't enough quality O-lineman to go around and stock every team.     Every team has a clunker or two.      That's why Grigson is always grinding the back of the roster.    That's why he drafts guys like Ulrick John and Denzelle Good.

I know I am no graduate of WHATSAMATTA U but it would seem that the combination of Reitz-Louis-Harrisson-Thornton-Mewhort would not put out best 5 linemen on the field... but what do I know.

They are easily found in the first and second round, but you would have to for go a  #1 pick of a WR that is 4th on the depth chart in order to obtain one! OR a #1 of an Alabama RB that can run through holes the size of a bus (requiring no vision in college).  Or better yet a  or a german that looked good in college but not sure if he can translate that into the NFL, because of a change in system/role.

 

Instead of drafting in the mid to late rounds to find diamonds in the rough or project players to be current OL starters.  Mewhort as a #2 was a great pick.  That is only 1 pick!  A 2nd rounder at that.  GM RG couldn't afford giving up to a skill player to protect Luck instead of padding stats?  Luck isn't good enough (Like Rodgers Brees Manning Brady) to make receivers better around him?  Perhaps with more time (in the pocket)... lol

As long as we can get a W against the Bucs and AC heals up.  A L to Pitt doesn't kill us.  Get players healty before Texans game, beat them and with the remaining schedule for the Texans we should easily get in   Not too much to worry about!

 Mewhort is OK.

 But sweep right is gone from the playbook as He is slower than Seth Olson, but i will give him credit for not falling down from just running all out.
