Mvp race

To many confusing OPOY (numbers game) with MVP. The Panthers would be about as screwed as Zona was last year, without Palmer, if they were to lose Cam.

I think it's going to be between Cam and Carson.

They obviously wouldn't be contenders without Cam, but that defense would keep them in a lot of games.

Absolutely, but again like Arizona last year even with the defense they had, they struggled badly without Carson. Cam and that offense has also been good about not having a bunch 3 and outs and consistently throwing his defense back onto the field. Carolina is ranked #2 in time of possession, I'm not sure Derek Anderson could maintain what Cam has been doing.

Cam is good at rushing the ball in the end zone, other than that the passing numbers are not all there.

Still the few passes that he makes he makes them really count.

Stewart is having an amazing year, that running game is clicking well this year and that O-Line has been solid this year.

They have a young team, and that's really scary how good they are going to be in the NFC for years to come.

I don't think Cam Newton has mvp numbers.

20th in passing yards tied in 9th for touchdowns,17th in Qb rating only completing 57% just doesn't seem to be as good as the 11-0 record.

I don't either, the only reason why he is considered for MVP is because his team is 11-0. I mean they had 2 pick6's and Cam didn't even have to do much. His stats are nothing eye popping. I think Brady deserves MVP and I don't even like the Pats.

It will be interesting to see if Carolina goes for the 16-0 season. If the Cards drop one more game than the Panthers will not need to win past week 14. But I agree, Cam's numbers this year are not MVP worthy.  Palmer's are though but he has the 2 losses to Brady's zero and Brady is winning with a ton of offensive injuries on top. He will only have 2 receivers for Sunday's night game. Harper who came off the practice squad and LaFell. And then there is the banged up offensive line on top. But it will still come to numbers/stats and wins as it always does for the award.
