No I'm not talking about the Colts Pass Defense.

I'm talking about the National media and their Hatred towards the Colts.

I have not had a chance to hear espn/nfl network. I watched the game away from home and was driving and got to hear a radio sports talk show.

They did not give credit to the Colts but blamed the Texans for everything. But worst was they called us the "over the hill gang". And then made fun of Pagano's post game interview. And then made fun of Hasslebacks high pitch voice. Saying he dated women with voices lower pitched.

At times they laughed so hard they were truly Unprofessional.

I've always know we are not a media darling, and I'm 100% fine with that. All the more sweet our victories are. But these guys were truly pathetic. I wish I could remember who they were. Maybe someone also heard the show and knows who these clowns are.

I don't know who you were listening to, but I did not feel like any of the media I watched during or after the game were being disparaging. There was a some comments about the ages, but I didn't feel like they were mean spirited and also heard several complimentary remarks. Maybe you were listening to a Texans broadcast.

Sincere question for you....

Was it ESPN National Radio?     Or, was it the local ESPN station where you live?

Those two are NOT the same,  and there's a HUGE difference!

I'm guessing what you heard was the local espn station where you live.    Because that doesn't sound like ESPN National Radio at all.

Yeah the NFL network segment I watched was pretty unbiased and gave us some props. Heck even on the postgame NFL Total Access even Heath Evans and Willie McGinest gave some pretty good comments on the team which they never give. Of course that is only because we didn't lose, and also because we didn't play the Pats. I expect those two to be saying something completely different next week when we play the Pats doesn't matter what the outcome is. They are Patriot homers and it really shows when they're on air especially talking about the AFC East or the Colts. As far as other media outlets I am not sure what they are saying as I haven't watched them.

As far as what you were listening to it sounds like maybe you were listening to the Texans broadcast. If it was mostly talking about all the Texans faults during the game, and added a couple shots at the Colts to make them feel better then that would be my guess.

What radio show? Who were the people on it?

Though ESPN has always disrespected the Colts going back to Manning, the radio people usually don't directly disrespect players by name outside of Luck (and still most people praise him).  So I'd really like to know the names of who it was.  Had to be local....

I thought the announcers on TV were fine.  They were being objective in my eyes.  They give credit where credit is due, and they tell it like it is when a team or player screws up.  I'm happy with the win, but let's face it-Houston handed the game to the Colts on a silver platter.  The penalties were such a gift to the Colts in many instances.  But, I' will take the win!

First of all this was very likely local radio.

Secondly, who freaking cares?

Let's be honest. The best player on the Colts offense last night was the Houston defense. If it weren't for all those penalties, we'd have lost. Hoyer looked like the second coming of Tom Brady - and the Houston receivers had no competition whatsoever.

Some people only look at whether we won or lost. Rationalization can be fun.  People who appreciate football look at how the game was played. Even in winning, the Colts are hard to watch, sometimes.

But, that Hasselbeck guy sure is a smooth operator in the face of viral adversity.

I'd like to know because I work with many people in that industry and I am curious as to who it was.  It didn't sound to me like any national show I can imagine.

And if you don't care, why in the world are you engaging people just so you can address how little you care?  Obviously you care enough to read the post, read the responses and respond yourself multiple times.  Sounds like you actually care more than I do as you read more than I did.  The only thing that's more of a waste of time than a going ahead and reading what you think is a dumb post, would be someone who reads the post, the responses and then has to respond more than once to tell us how dumb they are.   You must have a lot more free time than most.

Hold up I may be a homer when it comes to my colts. But to say we would've lost because Houston defense gave the game to us is a bit much. We gave JJ Watt the next best thing in football zero sacks! Clowney who is suppose to be a beast zero sacks! We played with a backup QB and beat a team what was humiliated the week before. Houston came out hungry after what Atlanta did to them. And we the colts won the game.

I did not hear any of these specific things, but almost all people in the national media, not just the sports side, are sheep. They do not have a unique opinion or thoughts. They just go along with whatever is the popular thought and do not stop the think about something critically. So with that said, who gives a flying flip what the national media thinks about our team. I am proud of how our team is fighting and that is all I care about.

    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
    • No.   You weren’t.   If you were the least bit sincere, we’d be having these conversations in private.  But you’ve repeatedly ignored my efforts to do that.  Your call.      Then you avoid me until I’m in an uncomfortable conversation with another poster.   You use that awkward moment as an excuse for you to come in with some sincere friendly advice.   The problem is, you’re neither sincere, nor friendly.  And you’ve been doing this for months now.  This is not new.   The pattern is clear and obvious.     And the shame of it all is that even with our different views on Ballard we have enough in common that we should be friendly.  Maybe not friends, but friendly.  You wouldn’t need to address me as “Sir.”    “Good deed going unpunished”.  You flatter yourself.     But your actions speak much louder than your words.   There’s no reason for me to trust you.  And here we are.  A real shame.
    • In a year when the Colts were in serious need of a QB and in position to draft one, Ballard came up in front of the media 3 days before the draft and straight up said something to the effect of "That guy everybody in media is talking about(Levis), we are not taking him". I don't know why you think the Colts are trying to throw us off the scent this year specifically. They are not trying to give us away the pick(thus the vagueness), but I also don't really think they are trying to mislead anybody. This usually becomes specifically apparent in retrospect after the draft when you look back at a lot of those quotes in the videos they release pre-draft... and they were talking precisely about players we ended up drafting, which they reveal in the post-draft video by extending some of those quotes(they did that with AR last year for example).    And about why people are doing it(guessing who they are talking about) - because it is fun. Nobody has the illusion that we will be right in our guesses 100% of the time... or anywhere close really... but it's still fun. And it's part of why the Colts release those videos with those quotes - to create engagement with the fanbase... part of which, and the entirety of which that 70 pages thread and whole board is about in the offseason. is to guess who the Colts might take and how they might feel about specific prospects.
