The Texans did Mallet dirty

Let's not pretend that we know Mallet is not a team player because of some scowling after getting flip-flopped (yet again) by his desperate, confused, clueless coach. This O'Brien guy is an absolute disaster.

He's been flip-flopping with these two QB's since the second quarter of week 1 for cripes sake. Show some leadership, make a decision and see it thru you loser!

I would be angry too. You want Mallet to cheer how much? When he knows they'll just muck it up again in a few minutes and maybe what....... Hoyer throws an INT and Mallet is back in? Then maybe Mallet throws an incomplete pass and Hoyer is back in? I wouldn't be smiling either, not if my coach was a damn dullard who is such a chicken #$%@ that he actually closed his eyes during their last FG attempt.

Mallet isn't the problem, his angry demeanor isn't the problem. It's that water-head coach of his to blame.

Yeah ruk, it certainly seems as though decisiveness is not in the cards for their QBs. Mallett pulled himself out for one play after Sio Moore pummeled him with that hit (flagged for helmet crowning). O'Brien then leaves Hoyer in. You're right, flip-flopping QBs are never a good idea playing any team. I really think that Mallett given the correct venue and coaching would suffice at least as a decent backup.

Hey, Ruk.  Yep, I'm one that was calling him not a team player (just my observation from last night)

This is the first game I've seen of Houston this year, so I really had no idea what was going on with them, or the history of the QB situation.  I have enough trouble keeping up with the two teams I follow :P

I can understand his frustration, if that is what has been going on.

Thread title sounds like the name of a potential naughty film.

:hide:

Indeed it does :sip:

I don't know what you guys expect though. It is the Texans, and they're a pretty bad run team.

Now I am waiting for everyone that hounded me all last year and summer "BUT BILL O'BRIEN IS A GOOD COACH"  to come out from under the rock and tell me what a meanie head I am for saying it; the Texans organization is BAD. Can't even beat a 40 year old Matt Hasselbeck who throws a touchdown to Andre Johnson. If Karma is real, last night she was having fun.

There's a time and a place for having hissy fits on the sideline. Ask Tom Brady. There's also a time and a place for going after blood on the sudelines. Ask Steve Young.

Sometimes Brady does have the best hissy fit moments. And before the Pats fan parade thinks I am making fun of him I am not. I am giving him credit for doing it well.

You are correct.   Thanks,  Jules!

O'Brien was the runner-up.

From his bio....

..."and O’Brien finished second in NFL AP Coach of the Year voting to Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians."

I've always loved Brady's intensity. Make no mistake he takes that passion and delivers it right to the heart of the defense every week.

Crazy is that he is even winning in that game lol. Sometimes I wish Luck had a little more of that instead of the goofy "my bad" look.....dang right its your bad...like 4 times in a game your bad. How about show a little fire lol. I know I'm being a little harsh but the Luck my bad thing to me is as annoying as the Peyton bitter face lol. I know everyone works differently but Toms passion to me is one thing that shines through. I loved Andrew jumping up and down on the sideline the other night though...I was like easy easy don't hurt yourself lol.

O'Brien is managing the QB situation about as bad as a HC can. He keeps flip flopping and just messing with his two QBs. He should have just started Hoyer if he was going to pull Mallett after leaving for one play where he was injured as Mallett was playing well up to that point. That first drive would have been a TD most likely if Foster catches that ball. Houston is a real mess. As I expected, their defense was awful. Poor Watt. Got doubled all night and no one else stepped up. Clowney for sure is a beast but not ready to be a force yet. Their secondary was awful and makes me happy that Bill did not trade for Joseph.

I really thought Hasselbeck played great. Hard to believe he is 40 as his movement was great. He threw well on the run, make the right checks at the line, threw with anticipation, played clean. I hope Luck was taking notes as the offense was really humming and hopefully something he can look to do when he gets back.

Hasselbeck played well, better vs Houston than against Jacksonville. I don't know whether Luck shies away from those roll outs and quick throws Matt was doing or whether Pep calls plays differently because he knows Matt lacks arm strength at age 40, but either way I hope they keep those elements in the game plan for Luck this time around. The offense is going to have to be firing on all cylinders to even have a competitive game against New England.

Me too dgambill. I have always like seeing emotion in general from players. I feel like Brady represents how I am feeling at times and the fanbase. He cares that much about the game to let it all show.

What was funny is the day after the Super Bowl, the local stations were making fun of him screaming and jumping down after the Butler pick and then you go on YouTube and see all the videos of Pats fans doing the exact same thing. It was pretty cool actually. :)

I agree about Luck last week too. That was as animated as I have ever seen him. I liked it too. That is what the game is about in many ways.

I never once saw him cheering for Hoyer when he was doing well.  That is NOT a team player.

Luck was jumping for Joy, and Hasselbeck's biggest fan last night, as it should be.

Little different situation as Luck knows he's the starter. But you still have it right as Luck is a great kid and Mallett is a jerk.

Coach Bill O'Brian is a huge disappointment, he is showing zero confidence in his decision making on the QB spot. He still will not commit either way. To me their season is doomed so with the idea of drafting a QB why not try to establish a back up? I know he can't say to any of the three ( including Tom Savage) "you are going to be the backup to our draft pick next year" but he has to know they are not good on defense either so they will not go to the playoffs so why not get as much as possible out of one guy? Gamble if you have to. Mallet was let go because New England did not need him. The entire organization is pathetic, no defense after declaring this would be a killer D and again no offense. You think our owner and GM are goofs, come on down to H town.

Yeah...I mean its a GAME...heck I'd be jumping up and down win or lose when I realized how much money I just made to play a GAME lol. I mean if people want to pay to watch me play some Cornhole or Euchre (only games I can still play without pulling a hammy nowadays lol) I'd take the money. I think fan bases and teams often take on the identity of their star players...like how the Red Sox did with their crazy *s or whatever they were called etc. Cub fans always have that snake bitten attitude etc etc so I can see why Patriot fans are so animated. I know when Peyton won it wasn't even that we were jumping up and down etc....it was like a relief (kinda like we were all going through the media pressure of it all too) or a monkey off our back. I think the second one would have been more enjoyable had we won. With Luck I think it will be totally different if were fortunate enough to win it all. Funny how that is.
