I wouldn't be shocked if Brown gets the fifth corner spot. I think Chapman and Hughes are in danger but I couldn't tell you who they would keep over them. Maybe grab a couple of guys from cuts from other teams if someone is cut lose they feel is better than Chapman and Hughes.

I clearly overlooked that. Brown is making this roster and Okine made a strong effort tonight so yeah

Agree with everything except Werner. I think he's done

Former first round pick playing the whole game in the 4th preseason game? Bad sign

I agree he's out of here. It doesn't look like he's trying out there. If he stays it's only bc he's a former 1st. I was a supporter of Werner until this preseason.

I think Good goes to the PS too. He's not ready for Sunday ball.

That leaves 2 open spots maybe an extra DB Brown? 6 WR. Bray for KR or we grab a vet OT. Cam gets the nod at OLB. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new face.

Other than that i think Supe nailed it Honestly Wener probably stays but I don't think he's earned it and we could use Cam until Mathis is back.

He didn't play the whole game, just into the 3'rd. Problem was, I noticed him out there just as much in the 4'th as the 1'st, 2'nd and 3'rd.

I wouldn't think so but I am not sure. You figure the last spot comes down to Werner Cam and Adongo.

I think he's lost it between the ears. It really seems like he's not going all out. I thought there was hope that he'd take at SAM. Maybe he takes off in the regular season.

He will probably get another year

I think Superman did a nice job on this one.    As I have said, Varga is a football player.  Jim Irsay said last night he loves him, and he reminds him of one of Belichick's boys.  I think we had heard that here too.  I know I have said it.

I am not sure I would keep 5 safeties because we have muc better players we could keep at other positions that are better than Guy.( I personally think Dewey McDonald is better than Guy too)

I thing Werner sticks here.....on a short leash.

I love the selection of Sylvestre.  He has been active and disruptive every game!!

I am with TK, Okine has quietly played well when he has played...PS hopeful?

The best players on Special teams have been Sheldon Price, Zurlon Tipton and Tyler Varga.  Is there anyone else that you guys would like to see make it due to special teams play?

I think Werner was put into a bad situation from the start. He played DE in college. Tried to play the Rush LB and it didn't work out. He has now switched to the SLB spot so he has to learn how to play that position now. I'm not sticking up for the guy but he would have probably been better off going to a 4-3 team and playing with his hand down.

Werner is a Sam. He's been fine at that position in the past, and this preseason. I think you guys are being silly. Difference maker? No. Worthy of a first rounder? Absolutely not. But you don't cut a third year player who can contribute and who still has room to get better.

The financials are probably a factor, as his salary is guaranteed, but not that big of a factor. The biggest thing is that he's not as bad as he's made out to be.

Same with Chapman. He was much better than Parry last night, and is a better NT right now. I think Parry is a better 3 tech, as a matter of fact.

To me, Brown and Price are the same, except Price is healthy right now. I'm not excited about either as a fill-in CB, but at least Price will make a play every once in a while.

I doubt we let Vick go, and I believe Varga will be on the PS.

Vick was back to his old self last night. He looked outstanding. Just because he had a little hamstring issue should not cost him a job. He is clearly the second most talented RB on the team.

If we let Varga go...he is a Patriot...simple as that.  I say keep him....JMO.

Some people do not understand what the NT's true responsibilities are.

I think Good has shown too much ability. I think if he goes to PS he will be signed by another team.  He jumps out of his stance and stonewalls the defender. He has work to do on running but I think he is the future RT with Mewhort going back to guard.

Vick is done. We wasted enough time in the off season on the guy. He can't stay healthy which is what happens to running backs who have an Achilles injury. He contributes nothing to special teams. Post-injury success remains elusive for one position, however. Our research concludes that no running back ever has recaptured sustained pre-injury form after rupturing an Achilles tendon. Furthermore in their research That's not atypical. Achilles tears are infamous for leading to further leg injuries down the line. I don't think Ballard has been healthy for a full week in camp.

I should preface my comments by saying I've seen very little of the pre-season.

That said,  hasn't Brown made something like 5-6 interceptions in fall camp?    By far the most of any corner?

I don't know how he's looked in games,  but it's hard to believe Price has looked that much better?

Sorry didn't continue the thread, I saw your answer, but Jalil Brown has made plays.  I've also seen Price make some solid plays, but nothing game changing like Brown (interceptions: Game and Practice), however I've seen Price screw up a lot as well.  Not to say Brown is perfect, but IMO he should get that final spot.

Talent means nothing if your always injured or suspended for that matter.  It is a shame, I wish he could stay healthy, but he's missed too many games the last 2 seasons and has been banged up 3x in TC/PS now.  Just like Donald Thomas got the boot, the only difference is Vick was able to produce his rookie year!  That's just too much.  Varga has earned a spot with raw athleticism and work ethic.  IMO, he deserves a spot more than Vick, but I also wouldn't mind keeping Varga designated as FB, even though I believe he is to small for that role!

Primarily because Brown is hurt. He missed the 2nd and 4th games. I agree he's played well, and ideally I'd have him ahead of Price.

Not really as simple as that. Pats are set at RB. Could use a FB. Don't think they'd go with Varga, who would have other teams looking for him at RB.

He seems like a young...cheap alternative to Patriot's backs.  I hope this is irrelevant due to Varga getting a roster spot here....:)

Maybe Werner makes it, maybe he doesn't, but I'm surprised you think he's such a lock. He didn''t even dress for the AFC Championship. If you sit him for the biggest game of the year, how far away could a decision to cut him possibly be?

The issues with Werner made me aware that Grigson really does draft BPA and goes straight down the board. I think that's what happened with Werner.

The highest rated player on their board was a pure 4-3 DE who lacked athleticism and they took him anyways. Can't put all the blame on him. We never should have drafted him.

We basically had to try and fit a square peg in a round hole. It's one thing to draft a project player in the 1st round because he's just really raw. It's another to get a project that you don't even have a blueprint on.

I'm not calling him a lock. I just don't think he's as bad as people are saying, especially at Sam. And I reject the push to get rid of him on the basis of him not being a good pick.
