We keep whalen on the practice squad, he's going to get signed. Something I think we'll regret. But we do have a great WR corp. Glad to see our DB'S keeping up too.

Can we cut harrison yet? Or do we have to wait til Holmes greys injured and he messes up another 5-6 snaps?

If we can keep Whalen on the practice squad I say we do.... But he can easily beat out Vincent Brown on the 53 man roster.

Also we most likely won't cut Jonathan Harrison. He can be a good player in the future. He is a project player. Have to remember he was a UDFA and he plays pretty well for being one. His bad snap issues are a problem but he has some high potential.

Not liking that Lance Louis is 1st team left guard right now.

While I know Reitz needs to work at tackle to provide a solid backup at that position, he should be starting over Lance Louis.

Where is Ulrick John???

Yeah I would like either Reitz or Thorton over Louis but it was only day one.....Although it would be nice for our offensive line to build chemistry!!!! And John was playing second team RT.

Really don't see how we'll regret cutting a easily replaceable WR in Griff Whalen

Because he's better than you give him credit for.  People who complain about him have never broke down the film on him.  The kid can play, he can get great separation, and has good hands.  He's Austin Collie without the concussions.

Yet Harrison is getting a real shot to win the starting job. Seems like you are totally out of the loop on this.

#Colts LT Anthony Castonzo confirms he and team in discussions for a potential long-term contract. Entering the last year of rookie deal.

Anthony Castonzo says it would be ideal to get a new contract done before the season: “That would be fantastic.” Perfect place for a LT

 Umm... Of course he is.  We dont have anyone else really competing do we?  He's already messing up snaps on the 2nd team.  Holmes is currently with the first team, until he gets injured.  Harrison also did not play well at all last year, allowing pressures up the middle and poor run blocking.  But if that is all you have :dunno:

He's good but replaceable. Reason being cause he's a 5th-6th option at WR and everyone knows that guy on the depth chart is your ST. They're confident in Dorsett & Carter at Returner so that makes Whalen expendable

It's carter's job to lose, but Whalen is basically out the door. But he won't get cut until the final ones cause the coaches do like him

Hmmm! Getting separation has been a HUGE problem for him. He gets you 5 yards when we need 7.

He has lacked the speed of Collie for sure. The reason he couldn`t get it done as a returner right?

He's there because we have Johnsons and TY, I'd go so far as to say he should be third, but this staff believes more in speed it seems.  Plus we dont know what to expect next year and who will be here.

Andre Johnson

TY Hilton

Donte Moncrief

Phillip Dorsett

Talent wise, how is he a #3 for us? Who on that list is Griff Whalen better than?

Griff can be a 3rd somewhere else, but not here. His days are numbered

Normally when two players are battling it out for a starting position that's not a good sign because it simply means you don't have an established player at that position and Holmes by no means secured the starting role last year and Harrison can hardly go through a game(Or apparently a practice) without acting like Luck is 10 feet tall and launching a football over his head

Not at all.  Again, like i told TK, noone actually takes a look at the film on him.  I went through, last year, every snap of his and broke it down and posted my findings.  Nearly every snap he has a yard or more separation on his defender.  The problem...Luck just doesn't look to him.  He was looking for Reggie and Hilton, underrstandably.  Most of the times he did throw to him were such terrible passes that Whalen either had to nearly pick it up off the ground, or twist his body around to catch the ball that was thrown behind him, which has been a constant complaint of mine on Luck.

A yard or more is separation in the NFL, almost noone except the elites, or broken plays, gets 5+ yards of separation.

Theres a spot for Whalen in this league because of his hands and route running....but this team could just be too deep at receiver to keep himm.....unless Carter just stinks it up

Pagano isn't stupid (at times), it's Holmes job barring injury

Harrison snapped the ball over Hasselbeck's head yesterday. He just can't get right

You are really putting a guy who NEVER played a down in the NFL as being more talented.  Thats some confidence right there.

Moncrief for me, the jury is still out.  They both have a 17 target differential for receptions to targets, but that doesnt mean they were good passes I'll grant you that. Moncrief is more of an outside guy going long, Griff is not, more designed for the slot, and short yardage with sure hands.  You cant compare and say its talent off the stats.  They just aren't the same type of receiver, they play differently and are used differently.

I'm not saying Whalen is bad, he's just not gonna make it here. The WR depth has caught up to him. We took Dorsett #1 that's why I put him there, he's not going anywhere he's a lock. Hilton & Johnson & Moncrief are locks. Moncrief opened yesterday lined up a #3

It's just no room for Whalen unless Carter or Brown get injured or stink it up

Whalen will go somewhere like Washington or something and play. Just not here in Indianapolis
