I thought we had sufficient talent to win the Super Bowl last year. For whatever reasons, we weren't efficient, effective or healthy enough to realize the objective.  This leads me to believe that talent is only part of a SB winning program.

Agree about Irving - good sign although Mathis and Thomas being on PUP is not necessarily a bad sign.

Mathis and Thomas will both get individual work so they can be evaluated more closely, and eventually they'll be in there. I expected the same for Irving, but evidently they've already seen enough of him to clear him.

 

As for Irving, I'm expecting him to be a sub defender, and my question is whether he's taking Jackson off the field, or Freeman. I would think Jackson, but he was making the calls last year, and usually that guy stays on the field every snap.

Me too! If I remember correctly someone missed a block and Luck got sacked on the last drive.

As far as the preseason PuP, a player can be activated at any time. But they have to stay on it if they want to put them on the regular season PuP.
