Andrew Luck contract projection (via Spotrac)

7 years is more likely. They don't want to have to pay him even more money down the road. In 7 years he can take a lower deal later because in 7 years he'll be almost 33

I don't know, 7 years would be ideal for the Colts but if I'm Luck I want to be forcing contract talks when I'm 30 or 31, not when I'm 33.  The way the salary cap is increasing he could be easily considered to be slightly underpaid around year 5 or so.

7 year contract gives a lot of leverage to the Colts.  I will be happy with a 7 year deal, but if I was Luck's agent I would recommend strongly against a 7 year deal.

On that thread I'm surprised no one posted this but they have an article projecting a TY Hilton contract.

Wow, I did not realize that Jeremy Maclin makes $11 mil per year.

On a sidenote, Spotrac is a pretty neat little site to "nerd" out to, lots of interesting info on that site.

overthecap.com has good stuff too.

But yeah, I think those of us who where saying 11 to 12 M for Hilton where right.  He's not the best in the NFL but he's top 10.  Plus for all 3 years in the NFL he's always posted a better year then last year.

Biggest knocks on him would be 1. Lack of TD passes.  2. Numbers may be inflated by playing in a offense centered around the pass and playing with an excellent QB.

I'm thinking 6 years with a player option after four.

I trust Superman on stuff like this. He's good with contract number crunching & duration parameters etc. etc. 21isSuperman is also quite skilled in this area too.

Just lock Chewbacca up in INDY for a long time & SW1 will be overjoyed & pleasantly pleased.

and Def, whatever they pay him now will seem like a mid-level salary in 7 years.

The longer a deal they sign the better....even if the deal starts at $25 mil a year
