Jets' Sheldon Richardson charged with resisting arrest 12 days after ban

Things are getting worse for Richardson. First his suspension for pot and now this:

 

Richardson was driving a car engaged in a high-speed road race near his home in St. Louis, the prosecuting attorney said Thursday in a statement.

A fully loaded semi-automatic weapon was found in the car, a 2014 Bentley, police said, and there was "a very strong odor of burned marijuana" emanating from the vehicle, the St. Charles County prosecuting attorney's office said in a statement posted to its website.

 

The best part though is Richardson's quote: "I'm not a dope fiend, man," he told reporters. "I apologized to my teammates and this organization. I told them they don't have to worry about my name being in the news again."

 

This is why I said back when he was suspended after being in the NFL substance abuse program that he probably has a real issue with weed as it takes multiple failed tests to get suspended. And now he is in a car that reeks of pot. Not good news for the J-E-T-S.

This is worse than reported.  12 year child was in the car while Richadson was road racing and high ....can't post extension to brief for some reason ....

Well he was already suspended for the first four games. I imagine that he wil be suspended for more than that after this latest incident.

Fast & furious, weed, firearms, & children...It sounds like a reality TV show if the event wasn't so shocking in real life. Let's hope Mr. Richardson now understands the gravity of his situation & gets the help he needs. 

 

Off topic: I was wondering what happened to ESPN "First Take" host Cari Champion & now I know. She deserves her promotion. I like her a lot. Smart, funny, very well spoken, & a solid journalist. Glad to see this.

Rex always new how to pick em. Talented guys, but they always came with character concerns. It's sad because that D line is incredible. I bet party of the reason they drafted Williams was because they forsaw something like this happening.
