Passed away Wednesday at age 76.

Played center for the Bears in the 60s, the Mike Ditka years but I remember him doing the pre-game and

post-game shows for the Bears on WGN-720 in the 70s until they lost the contract in the 80s.

Seemed like such a good guy...really explained things to the fans. There weren't any sports talk stations back then (and home games weren't on TV) so you had to listen to WGN for Bears talk.

Old Jack Brickhouse used to do play by play of the games.

He was a loyal voice of the Bears for a long time..a long time ago
