I'm hoping for Newsome to really break out and put up double digit sacks. Then maybe Mathis will be his old self too. If that happens its gonna be on for opposing QB's with Newsome, Mathis and Cole chasing them down. We'll be running some of those Nascar packages I'd say.

don't see any game changers, just average talent

Newsome has the ability to be a game changer IMO. And obviously Mathis if healthy. Also I could see Cole really having a great season. You know how some veterans will play with one team and maybe drop off a little, then go to another team and put up monster numbers for a year or 2? I can see Cole being one of those guys. I think being with a new team, being a team leader, and a true SB contender will give him new life.

I'm interested to see what Anderson and especially Quarles can do from the inside.

I really like Quarles a year on the PS should really have helped him. He needed to get in football shape. A theme in Gamecock land. He gets off the ball quickly. I think he's going to surprise this year.

Don't see how you can call Newsome just another guy after one year and a pretty good one at that. He has the potential to be a play maker.

I know I am in the minority but I think I saw something in Werner last year. He made some plays but was 1/2 a tick from really having a good year.

He did slow down at the end of the year. He has improved a little each year. I think he puts it together this year.

I'm not saying he will go sack happy but he will get close to double digits, provide pressure/hurries, bat down balls, sniff out screens. I think he takes a big jump becomes a solid player.

He will continue to be the forum punching bag because he was drafted at the end of the 1st. so everyone expects the next Mathis. I think he figures out his game.

Cole will be Cole and if Mathis gets back that's a cherry on top

The back end is ready to make plays Davis Toler Smith Butler Adams and I think Lowery is going to fit right in. We can cover getting the ball out a second early can make a huge difference.

Langford a focused Hughes and a healthy Jones is going to really help keep our LB's free. Freeman should be healthy. Irving will bring it.

I expect the D to dictate the game more than we have seen in years resulting in more turnovers and a glimpse of the D we have been waiting for. We aren't all they way yet but pieces are coming together

I'm curious to see the different spots they rush Trent Cole.  He can be used very similar to Pernell Mcfee in this defense. I saw where they were talking about rushing him from over the center among other spots they could bring him from.  I wouldn't be surprised if they had a package with Cole, Mathis, Newsome on the field at the same time with maybe somebody like Henry Anderson. .
