Former LSU CB Jalen Collins failed multiple drug tests in college

Recommended Posts

....  and NFLN's Daniel Jeremiah and Charles Davis both says they've heard this for a while.

This happened in college.

In addition,  Collins has had recent foot surgery.

Well....   he was 31 on my 1st round board....   but I now think he's going to go in the 2nd round....

This is the type of information that affects many media analysts and fans/bloggers big board.  But any team that is truly interested in J.Collins and did their proper homework already knew about these failed tests and the recent report coming out in public doesn't affect their board at all. It was already known and factored in.

U. of Maryland coach Randy Edsall on organizations scout and coaches at a typical pro day-

“I’m up-front and honest with our players, in that we’re not going to lie for them,” Edsall says. “We want to make sure that people will come back and they can trust what we say.  It’s amazing just how much information they can gather on a kid. They want to know what a guy’s home life is like, how many parking tickets a guy got on campus. Different scouts and organizations will ask different questions, and some are very, very thorough about what they do, because all these little things add up.”

And those (if any) teams did not know about this just wasn't seriously interested in taking him anyway.  But they may have reason to move him down their board, just in case...

But one thing is for sure, we (not directly involved in team scouting) will never know about all of the issues for every player that might affect their draft stock value. So I expect I might see some mocks here might change right on up until draft day.  But I doubt many teams big boards change at all based upon this, especially as off season workouts etc.. have begun and have teams attention.

Interesting side note on the U of Maryland pro day {will appease our Patriots members here}.

Bill Belichick was the only NFL head coach in attendance.  Blll stood at the 15 yard line right beside Randy Edsall, out of earshot of all scouts, media, and players.  They talked non-stop for two hours.
