Rumor: Titans get #19, #20 picks plus Mychael Kendricks and Fletcher Cox

OK, if the Eagles are willing to give up basically two proven first rounders, and two draft picks, here is what I propose. We trade Andrew to the Titans for their 2nd and their their 1st rounders for the next 5 years. Then we flip Mariotta for the Eagles stash. Then we go back to the Titans and trade Kendricks, Cox, and the 20th this year and our 29th, and Titans number 1 draft pick next year for Andrew. I like it! We get Andrew back plus multiple number 1's the next 5 years. I am of course being very sarcastic hear, so no heckles!   unless Tenn. is game for the trade?

As insane as the above sounds, that trade by the Eagles would be even more crazy. Kendricks and Cox may be in their last year of their contract, who cares. They are excellent players. Kelly if this was done, seems intent on gutting his roster so he can instill his dream vision. I don't think for a second Lurie would be OK with this, even if Chip has Personnel control.

It would just be the cat's pajamas if the Bucs selected Mariota after the trade went down and Philly had to select Winston or someone else.

That would be hilarious, tho I expect this trade wouldn't go down until after the Bucs picked.

LOL, but that's why they won't do the deal until the Titans are on the clock.  OTOH, that gives any/all involved teams time to get cold feet and back out at the last moment as well...

Yeah, they would work it out but not finalize it.

Heck....IF Chip Kelly is really willing to pay THAT price....then the Buccaneers should call him immediately, threaten to take Mariota instead of Winston, and then milk the Eagles for all its worth.

With the 1st pick....they could do that deal today.

I'd happily trade the rights to Jamies Winston OR Mariota for Kendricks, Fletcher and those picks.

This rumor is so crazy the more I think about it.

The Browns

The Browns are so bad at QB eval its not even funny. Josh McCown(the hottest QB...from two years ago) and Johnny 8ball(#22 pick from last draft) and now they are gunning for a QB who has not lived up to his potential and has not completed a full season for two years for the #19 pick.

I have been wondering if this happens and then Bradford is like "NOPE!" and refuses to play for the Browns. Then again, he needs to rehab his value.

The Titans

The Titans would be pulling off one of the greatest heists I could ever recall. With their back to back picks I think they very well could cut into our plans pretty heavily. If Landon Collins is still there... he is a Titan and one of the offensive tackles go to them as well.

Or... they trade one or both of those picks to acquire a slew of mid round talent. Seeing as this draft is so deep they could very well set themselves up for an almost complete rehaul and take out the trash post June 1st or not resign impending free agents.

The Eagles

Chip gets his man and spends the rest of the draft making up for his mad science! From the beginning, I felt as though this venture for him was a chance to prove his system can work in the NFL and if it doesn't garner a Super Bowl win within 4 years... he is out! What does he care though... his system will show well with or without a Super Bowl win and a collegiate team will be chomping at the bit to sign him to a contract. Chip is set no matter what lunacy he pulls for the next several seasons!

I'd expect Chip to retire before going back to college.

To prove his system will work at the Iron Acres Professional Athlete's Senior Living Cener... IF and only if he gets complete control over the medication prescription distributions

If the Titans got offered this they better freaking take it

I'd rather have Phillip Rivers is that deal is for real?       The Philly offer is nice but still leaves them with Z Muttenberger?   Really?

I know a lot of Philly fans and they are ready to run Kelly out of town now.     He needs to settle down and some stability in his program.

What has he done to make them worse?

I'm guessing he'll settle down after he flips the roster.

Mett had a better year than Carr who everyone praises as a future franchise QB

Both Kendricks and Cox are in the last years of their contracts, with Cox's having a one year $8 million option.

Rent-a-players.

Kelly would be smart to do this. He needs the QB. He can always sign defensive players after next season, which would be Mariota's rookie season.

There are other words besides "Rent-a-players"

Building blocks.

Kendricks and Cox are very good players.   Among the best, if not the best defensive players the Eagles have.   They could be viewed as priority players to sign for the long-term.

It's no sure thing that they can be easily replaced.....

I generally agree. I think to get the number 2, any team has to give up real value...they can't really fool another team. I think he thinks its easier to find a Cox or Kendricks in the second half of the first round next year than it is to find his QB. A team almost never has a shot at drafting a franchise QB. For Kelly's system, Mariota is that QB, IMO.

We absolutely agree...    QB is the hardest position to find....    no doubt.

I just think this deal -- if it's as reported -- means Kelly is paying full price....

I don't think Winston or Mariotta will be what many think they will.    The really great QB's have something that is just not gradeabl3e.

Oh well...      I just need a GM to build a D and my next decade should be filled with drunken AFCCG's and SB's....

:)   Go Colts...
