There is a 'belief' that Doug Martin can be acquired for a mid round pick

He played 6 games 2 years ago. Not so healthy. Last year he was banged up throughout the coarse of the year. Go back to his rookie season and he was a great premier RB.

We already traded for a RB drafted in the first round of the 2012 draft once.  It was a disappointment; yet, somehow, Doug Martin has managed to be an even greater disappointment over the last two seasons.  I want no part of this.

I wouldn't want to give up more than a 6th round pick for him.  I don't think he's that great of a running back.  He had one good year and hasn't done anything since.

I was thinking a 4th but I looked up his stats and his stats for the last 2 years look BAD.

 

456 yards and 494 yards at 3.6 and 3.7 YPC respectively.

 

6th and no better.  Maybe he can re-hab his career here, but I doubt it.

I wouldn't ever give up a pick for a RB again. They are a dime a dozen. Build the trenches things have a way of working out on both sides of the ball.

I am very conflicted on this mainly due to the fact that we don't know whether wed be getting the banged up Doug Martin who has been around the last 2 years, or are we getting 'The Muscle Hamster' from his rookie year.

 

A mid-round pick for TMH would be great, I'd be okay with that.
