Denver-New England Game Thread

Hey now, Tebow didn't lose them this game....two costly fumbles did them in. He played ok, but Brady carved that D up...which surprised me b/c their D had been playing so well. The highlight for me was Elvis Dumervill (sp?) just destroying Brady on a sack....ouch...and it was textbook. No head to head, squared him up and literally picked him up and slammed him!

I wouldn't say derailed. Not really his fault. Just a bunch of fumbles and the defense couldn't make stops.

But if he got all the credit when they were winning... and a lot of that was due to defense and special teams... why would he get a pass if they lose? He fumbled, he made some really bad decisions, and was as much a part of them losing as anyone, IMO.

Speaking of defense....:)

Now I've always known teams feel each other out the first couple of series and it does seem our defense gives up the most yards early on.

Well I don't know if you caught Vince Wilfork's post game but he asnwered it perfectly to reporters 3 different ways.

They didn't know what to expect from Denver. They knew Tebow had gotten better. So they studied and practiced several formation adjustments. He said they looked at what they were doing the 1st quarter and with no confusion on the sidelines because they were prepared with alternate plans, quickly intalled the right adjustment...and THEN ATTACKED with it.

Which is exactly what they did right through the 4th qtr.

Last in defense my foot!!! :)

Well, I guess I just wish they would adjust faster, that's all.

The first two Denver drives were painful to watch. Just painful. To an extent the Patriots can afford to play it out that way and get down by a score or two, but eventually they're going to run into a team that adjusts to their adjustments and maintains that momentum for longer than a quarter.

I'm still completely unsold on this defense.

Yeah..Vince said Denver offense had no adjustment for their defense adjustment so they just continued to stick it to them. Natually he's pretty upbeat about his defense, especially finishing out 4th qtrs.

But yeah..can be unconfident to watch to say the least:)

Thank you, Patriots. I hate when we're not in control of our own destiny, we appreciate the help out!!!

and thankyou for knocking the Ravens down a peg.

Now if SF can knock the Steelers down....;)

And Philly whacked Rex Ryan's Jets

It was as close to a "perfect weekend," as far as other results around the league go, for the Patriots, huh?

I don't know if they go on a run or not, but either way I'd rather see them snag the top seed and play at home for as long as they can.
