I expect Grigsons looking into what he wants and contact his agent....When a player like him hits FA a GM would be a fool not to  if they have a need like we do......But I don't expect anything to come of it

The money you'll have to dish out just isn't worth the heartache his knucklehead ways will bring you

Aside from the Walden headbutt, :colts: usually are classy on the field. Suh would tarnish the image with penalties & fines

Talent is great but the maturity level is depressing

Id argue his talent and ability outweighs the attitude and controversy he brings on the field... We need a hard nosed, rough and punch you in the mouth type player up front, and have done for a number of years.... I think he just makes our defense so much better. He would definitely give us a legit shot at a deep playoff run / superbowl...

maybe. But hed up over half our cap space....we'd be hurting for years to come. Unless he decides to take a discount to come play for a contender than I doubt we sign him. Anymore than say 10 to 12 million a year tops...and I say let him go to the raiders

He's going to want $20 a year.

I'd pay up to 16 for him a year, which is notably below that Watt figure. But my argument would be do you want to get paid a few extra million $ over 6 years, or do you want to potentially win a SB or two with a real contender and still get paid over 10's of millions of dollars to play this game?

Well, he's been tagged. So there's that. :(

Yeah it wasn't announced yet when I said that..came out 5 minutes later....

I still think paying Suh near watt levels is stupid...and no he's not worth it. Not when he's one dumb move away from a multiple game suspension . 10 to 12 million ideally, no more than 14/15

The Colts have got to stop throwing money at mediocre players and expecting big-time results (Walden, Landry). Knighton and McPhee are both mediocre players in comparison to Suh. In fact, McPhee is a pass-rushing specialist and wouldn't do much to help cure the run defense problem the Colts have right now.

Suh is one of those few players that can make your defense WAY better overnight. He is a game-wrecker and would completely change the way teams play the Colts.

The Colts want to fix their problems via free agency? Stop spending big money on these mediocre players and start spending big-time money on big-time players. The window will not be open forever just because the team has Luck.

Watt got a 6 year $100m deal. 100m / 6 = $16.6 per year.

If Suh wants to be the highest paid D player in the league that $0.6m will mean a lot to him.

but it won't mean a lot to the team signing him If they are willing to give him 16, they will pay 16.7. Plus, the bonus money is all that really matters. Watt got 51 million..

Watt, if he stays healthy, is probably worth the money.  Suh isn't Watt, even in his dreams.

He's actually really mature and smart, but in game he does dumb things when he's in the moment. Honestly he has a bad rep but he doesn't really do much I'd care about.

Same boat.  Off the field he's a good guy, and comes from a good family (my ex went to school in the same class and his mom was one of her teachers).  On the field he's nasty.  That's the exact combination that I want the Colts to have.

I don't know why some people don't want players like Suh. first of all Suh is one of the best DT's in the league. Second, we need players like him. We need rough, hardnosed, hard hitting, nasty players, whose going to knock your lights out, then tell you about it. Guys who put fear into the opponent. That's something we're lacking. We sometimes play way too soft. With all that said, we do need to take a look at Suh IMO. He could change our defense 360 degrees. New England wouldn't be laughing at us then. I can tell you that right now.

First of all the Colts don't spend "big money" on these guys. Grigson structures contracts well. RJF's deal was really 2 yr 11 million when all was said and done. That is nowhere near the 18-20 million Suh will be making next year.

if the Colts do find a way to pry him from Detroit...front load the heck out of the deal before so most of the guaranteed money has been paid before Luck's contract is due.

luck enters the final year of his contract this year I believe
