I'd be thrilled with Harry Douglas. When Julio went down early in the 2013 season, and Roddy White was banged up most of the time, Douglas stepped up and put the team on his back. Underrated player. Every thing you would want in a number 3

If we were to sign a FA WR at a cheap contract, I would rather look into Cecil Shorts or Eddie Royal.

Hartline isn't a bad possession receiver.  

 

We should consider those guys for WR depth.  I still like Eddie Royal though.

Douglas past couple seasons.

2013: over 1,000 yards on 85 receptions.

2014 only had just above 500 on 51 receptions.

I've always liked Harry Douglas as a player, I think he would be a good pickup as I think we need a pure slot guy. He or Eddie Royal would be a nice fit. Honestly, I'd rather get Lockette in the draft but would have no quarrel with Douglas.

I think Douglas would be a great pickup if Reggie retires and Nicks is gone. TY, Douglas, Moncrief sounds like a good top 3

Carter is still just a propect with a lot of talent. Douglas has proven he can play in the NFL. I have hopes for Carter and as a 4th receiver he will still get reps.

I think it seems like the opposite .... too many think too much of Carter; a lot of people are already penciling him in as the #3 WR before he has even played a down in the NFL.

He might not have took a snap in the NFL but he is not a rookie. I don't consider a couple of people a lot. Most are in the wait and see mode like me. My comment was in response to the lack of seeing his name brought up.

I agree. I was not saying one was any better it was just a general comment. I do think Carter will be in the mix as the season goes along. He has the talent as long as he has the drive to better himself.

There are quite a few that have some very high expectations of Carter and making assumptions.  He is the equivalent of a rookie.

Playing in the CFL Carter was playing against better talent than college players. High expectations come along with assumptions. We have some who are assuming a couple of draft picks will be starters so why would Carter be any different? I said he was falling into the wait and see mode for me. There is nothing wrong with having high expectations for him as long as he has the will to make himself a NFL player just like anyone else. You seem to have a negative attitude about him and that is understandable. He has been walking strait for a couple of years so my expectations are high on him.

No negativity toward him... would love to see him live up to the high expectations ... but I have been let down a few times on these CFL & project guys. I see him more as an equivalent to a rookie draft pick; I definitely don't see him as having more potential than rookie WRs: Cooper, White, DGB, Parker, etc ... .  I just think too many people (not necessarily you) are prematurely penciling him in as #3 and totally writing off the fact we need a vet/proven WR other than TY, especially if Reggie doesn't come back.
