Absolutely not. For one, Ulrick is a Guard, and two, we haven't seen him play in a real NFL game. He's a potential good guy, but it's speculation until he gets actually playing time. If anything, Reitz makes Cherilus more expendable.

Actually projected as a Left tackle. Sometimes they do play guard before tackle but no way he was drafted or projected to be  a guard

My mistake then, I remember he was drafted as a guard and I haven't heard much of him since. I still think we need to see something from him before he can be deemed a replacement for Cherilus though. Kinda hoping we draft an OT.

We have no idea what we have with John.  If Gosder does go, I don't think it would be because we have John on the roster.

We don't know enough about him yet.  I think that Mewhort was drafted with the intention of playing tackle-Donald Thomas was not injured yet (for the second time) and Thornton was still the projected starter in the RG position.  

 

I was pretty happy about Holmes playing most of the time.  Mewhort was pretty solid for a rookie and AC had a pretty good year.  Cherilus is ok when healthy but that hasn't been the case in a while.  

 

LG position will be interesting.  I'd keep Reitz as a backup but I'm not sure about starter if better players are available to us with cap space, etc.  

 

I really think they need to evaluate blocking scheme to improve the run game.  Then, we can see who is really beneficial.

Not now he doesn't. We don't know what John can offer at RT. We'd have to see him in game time. Even then, Reitz would be next in line at RT. Only way he would make anyone expendable would be to completely annihilate them in Training camp and pre-season, which I don't see happening.

He had some promising play in the pre-season. . . But that's only pre-season and he got hurt almost right away.

I find it funny that all the people that indicate they don't know if UJ can replace GC because he has not played a sap in the NFL will get all excited about the Colts draft picks this year.  Also, I'll have to check but I believe there are some on this thread that already have Duron Carter as a starter ahead of Reggie Wayne

I don't know if I'd go as far as beast but he is a good RT when healthy.  The problem is, his knee issue(s) is a degenerative issue so it is a concern on whether or not he will ever be truly "healthy" again.
