  1. 1. Will you watch the Superbowl?

I was wondering how they do rating these days. Back in the day I was chosen to be a Nielson family and has to write down every we watched in a log. As technology involved I guess they sent people a box that they would plug in that logged what they watched. Do they still do that or do the cable/dish companies have the ability to pull the data?

I will be watching with some friends and family. We are going to have some BBQ, hot and spicy wings, a big batch of some little smokies, chips and dip, and some celery sticks with cream cheese and peanut butter and beer for those who drink. We will all be rooting for the Seahawks that's for sure. If the game don't go well we will just turn the sound off, crank up some classic rock and have a Texas holdem poker game. This day will not be waisted no matter how the game turns out!  :neener:  :GoodBad:

I have a good friend that hates football and I was telling him how I'm not watching this years Bowl, and he immediately said "Yeah....right". So I made plans with him on Sunday night just to prove my ranting was legit. Now I'm stuck playing pool in his garage.

I typically go to my parents house to watch the game with them. They make some great food and it's become a yearly thing. They love the NFL, especially my mother. Neither one of them are watching it, most notably my mother, which is where I get my stubbornness from I suppose.

This game is meaningless without it's integrity. I wish more people cared about this issue and would be willing to make a statement, the NFL should've had a more aggressive protocol for the discovery of cheating during the progress of a game, but they dropped the underinflated ball on this issue and allowed a cheater to win.

I predict record ratings once again, for a game featuring a team that was caught cheating to get there. For shame.

No. Not watching it.

I will be watching it because I'm a fan of the game of football and this is the biggest football game of the season.  I won't be cheering strongly for anyone; I hope the Pats put up 60+ points on the loudmouthed Seahawks, but I don't really care about the outcome.  Does it really make a difference if one group of potential ball-manipulating cheaters with a history of cheating beats another group of PED-taking cheaters led by a don't-ask-don't-tell cheating coach?

And that is exactly why this super bowl is the worst possible match up. How anyone (outside of die hard lifelong fans of the team) can root for either of these teams is beyond me.

Yes I will be and I will be pulling hard for the Seahawks which sucks.  I guess I will be more interested in the food :)

Same here, going to a friends house and we already planned what food we are bringing.  Maybe we can play "Cards against Humanity" and some beer pong with the game in the background.

I personally like Belichick more than Carroll.  Carroll's cheating goes all the way back to his time at USC.  He conveniently left USC right when the Reggie Bush scandal broke.  So he goes from cheating in college, to the NFL, where his team becomes the team with the most suspensions for PED use.  Cheating in college to cheating in the pros.

All that aside, I find New England to be far more classy than Seattle.  Sherman loves to run his mouth, but I haven't seen anyone from New England be that obnoxious

Watchin Katy Perry for some good eye candy.

Yeah, if I'm being totally honest with myself, I'll be doing the same thing too bravo4460. Can you say wardrobe malfunction #2? Can Katy Perry top Janet Jackson? I enjoy mishaps on live TV before a global audience.

I find the moral family value angle of the NFL so hypocritical. One blurry cleavage picture for a few seconds is gonna tarnish young minds? Oh please that's nonsense as they sit through beer, condom, & viagra ads NFL Commissioner. LOL!

Well said 21. Pete Carroll has a checkered past of his own & I don't like that he ran away from USC sanctions & got the Pacific NW football job either.

I deleted what you said about Richard Sherman because I admire his intelligence, work ethic, humor, & boldness on the field. He's a darn nice guy off the field too.

Yeah, I find myself flipping back and forth on Sherman.  He does charity work and is very well spoken, which makes me like him.  He also came out of a rough background thanks to a great work ethic, which is something else I respect.  But I can't stand how he continually runs his mouth.  I didn't mind it at first, and I actually liked it because it gave the fans something to talk about, but now it's just getting annoying.  He comes across as arrogant

I'll be watching the Super bowl just because it's football. I find myself slightly favoring New England. I don't like Pete Carroll, and the Seahawk fans on other football forums are getting annoying. Maybe if New England beat them, they would settle down as to how great they are. I post on other sports forums, and I notice that none of the Seattle fans showed up until this past week. Where were they earlier in the season when Seattle started out badly?

I had a hard time getting over Seattle beating Green Bay. I know that Green Bay gave that game away, but you would think that Wilson had a great game, the way the media wrote. So maybe that's the main reason I favor New England. The Colts game was like "here we go again" but the Green Bay loss shouldn't have happened.
