Reggie wayne bc the wr are still in development mode. But I assume he will give it 1 more year. Then sign mike adams and sergio brown. And of course matt overton. This team needs an overhaul and fresh new look.

Yeah...another rebuild! Let's see, that would make us contenders in what...2017?

Letting Wayne come back will be the worst decision since the Richardson trade

The man is done, he's basically out on the field for nothing.

I tend to agree with all except Hasselbeck & Wayne. I would hope they would come back for vet minimum with maybe a performance pay provision. Great to have them on the field but if they don't perform....no loss.

You don't know if Reggie is done. With what he has done and meant to this team he deserves the benefit of the doubt if he chooses to come back and try. He stayed with the Colts when he was needed the most and has been a leader and a mentor. He could have walked away three years ago but helped develop Luck, Hilton and both Allen and Fleener. You talk about him like he is trash that needs to be thrown away.

No, it is a loss. Cause if Wayne comes back, maybe Grigson passes on a player in the draft that he would've drafted if Wayne was retiring

You mean like he passed on Moncrief in the 2014 draft?

I know that was a long time ago.... almost 9 months,  but I think the chances of Grigson simply passing on a WR because he brings Wayne back for one more year are right around zero.

That's not to say we're a lock to draft a WR.    Only that the presence of Wayne will mean absolutely nothing.

I don't really think we would take a WR high enough in the draft to be an immediate replacement for Reggie....they will probably be projects players. Surprisingly enough we have been pretty successful drafting WR's and we have much bigger other needs.

You saved me a lot of typing. I would give Bradshaw another chance. A broken bone doesn't fall under the heading of injury prone as opposed to muscle tears, ligaments,etc..

Any long snapper in the NFL could do his job. He is more of a "look at me" player rather than a high character player. I've seen him at multiple bars in the Indy area after concerts, especially country concerts. Anytime girls are around him trying to take a picture he'll do whatever he can to draw to attention to himself and ask if they want a picture with him. He disregards male fans almost anytime they approach him. Look at any of his social media profiles and you'll see that he is a gigantic * who will do whatever he can to make himself look like a good guy.

He's very good at his job.

If you want to do away with all the narcissists, egomaniacs, and guys who love the ladies in the NFL,  you're going to do away with a huge amount of players on every team in the league.

That's the way it's been since the dawn of time.....   this is a testosterone driven league....

That stuff doesn't bother me as long as the players own up to it or if they don't act like something they're not. The fact that he pretends to be something he's not at every chance is my issue.

I would let these players walk retirement or not starting with Wayne. I know what he has ment to this team over the past 3 years, but putting fan favorites aside its all about production and his numbers speaks for itself. No one including Reggie can out run father time. I would let these guys go, Hasselbeck-Redding-Moala-Bradshaw-Nicks-Studebaker-Gordy-Anderson-Howell. I would also let go of G-Thomas,T-Cherilus, DL-Francois, OLB-Walden, S-Landry which could save us close to 20M added to the 30 to 40M we already have in cap this offseason. Luck has 2yrs left on his rookie contract, we need to be spending money on players that can change the outcome of a game, Its all about age and production. This could become one of the crazy free angency we have seen in some time we need to be ready. There are a number of players on this team that are underperforming based on their contracts #s...

I'd would go along with all of those except Walden and Hasselbeck. Walden played pretty good this year and while not quite to his contract numbers, I feel he's still an asset. Same with Matt. I kind of like the security blanket of having a superbowl and pro bowl QB backing up Andrew. He's barely costing anything and you're not going to find that quality of QB in FA. Yeah father time is creeping up but it's not like he's playing every snap.

Luck has one year left on his rookie contract. While I understand your opinion do you really think it is that easy to fill all the spots you mentioned just because we want to? As far as Reggie is concerned you have no clue what he has left in the tank but he does deserve the benefit of the doubt till it is shown one way or another. Hasselbeck is not a high dollar backup and replacing him with a backup with his skills would cost just as much with any other backup QB. Bradshaw, A broken bone is not a sign he cant play anymore. Prior to that broken bone he was by far the best RB on the roster. With training camp and pre season all these questions will be answered. Knee jerk reactions are not the best way to go sometimes.

I've never been around Overton in a bar setting, but every time that I have ever seen him interact with fans (training camp and before every home game) he is ALWAYS friendly, ALWAYS speaks to guys and girls alike, ALWAYS shakes your hand, and ALWAYS thanks you for coming out and supporting the team.

Once again these interactions haven't been in a casual setting, more of a work environment so to speak, but I would never classify him the way that you have.  I guess I'm glad to have not had your experiences around him.

I would keep all but Moala and Gordy if they are willing to come back. Redding, Hasselback, Wayne, Hicks and Bradshaw back on one-year, incentive laden deals. Even if they are on their last legs, they are still of value to this team.

And if a QB goes down for another team and they call about Hasselback, trade him for a mid-rounder. Draft a rookie QB to groom as a backup in the late rounds this year or find another in FA on the cheap. No sense getting nothing for Matt if someone needs him this year.

The Colts will have 90 players in camp. You really think Reggie being on the roster during that time is going to make that big a difference? If Wayne is on or off the roster it wont change Grigsons draft one bit. Your making way too much out of one player who may or may not have something left in the tank. The Colts and Reggie will know where he stands after camp and four pre season games.

I think Matt is happy doing what he is doing. He has stated as much. He knows he is getting long in the tooth so to say and where he is as now keeps him in the mix. I think he would retire before going somewhere else. JMO.

    • I just thought I would take this opportunity to brag a bit about the fact that I had the opportunity to chat with Peyton at the Masters last week for about 5 minutes.  Truly a bucket list experience and I must say, he has the Southern Hospitality that one might expect but wow- did not expect to run into him and it was quite the experience.  It just had to be the one place left on earth where cell phones are banned, so no picture opportunity unfortunately.   I told Peyton that my first Colts experience was riding to Buffalo in a blizzard when the Colts were 14-0 and they benched him only to lose that game. I said thanks for my first Colts experience being one where he was riding the pine.  He laughed, apologized to me and said that if it was up to him he would have been checking down in that snow storm for 4 quarters.  He thanked me for the support, and was asking me a bit about myself, where I am from, etc.  Quite the gentleman! I think it was obligatory for him to be nice to patrons while he was wearing his Green Jacket, but none the less....a great experience meeting a childhood hero. Lynn Swann walked up to us while we were talking and shook Peyton's hand.  I joked that now was the perfect time for a 10 yard slant- and then slid into the bushes like Homer Simpson with humility.    Unforgettable experience everyone!   Would love to hear some of your Peyton stories from over the years, since it is a bit of a slow time of year before the draft! Let it fly Colts fans
    • I agree.  I think this is another one of those over-hyped QB classes that will probably never perform to the level of the hype. But -- teams still need a quarterback.  And will convince themselves that that must take one of these quarterbacks.  That it's the only solution to their problem.  If I was forced to choose, I would probably go with Heisman winner Jayden Daniels.  I'm concerned that Caleb Williams may have some personality issues to go with his lack of measurables, even though he shows strong ability to improvise.  Drake Maye has the measurables, but I have questions regarding the level of opposition playing at UNC.  It's not the same as playing the equivalent of the Crimson Tide every single week.  JJ McCarthy is "good".  And he's been successful.  He led his team to a BCS championship.  And?  I see him in the same mold as AJ McCarron.  Supremely successful in college, but not good enough to be The Guy in the pros.
    • Right. KC was also a perennial playoff team prior to Mahomes taking over. The Colts are a fringe playoff team at best, until we see if AR can lift the roster.    And to your point, Veach took over the summer before Mahomes’ rookie year. Hard to compare how KC’s FO approach with Dorsey at GM (for several years) vs. when Veach took over. It seems like Ballard has been more like Dorsey and Veach might just operate differently from both of them.    If Ballard wanted to follow the Veach KC model, he sure waited a long time to do it once Luck retired.
    • DeFo was an aggressive move.   But I wouldn’t classify Wentz or Ryan as aggressive moves. Getting Stafford would have been an aggressive move at QB. Wentz was cheaper and PHI was looking to dump him. They didn’t even budge from their initial offer to PHI  And Ryan sort of fell in their laps after they dumped Wentz.
    • I think most important option is missing in the poll : No One.   I think it's a fairly average QB class that it's okay to not like anybody enough to draft him. There's no one QB that Wows you with their pocket passing Caliber or pure athletic traits or good combination of both. It's like a tweener class of all those abilities, having lop-sided combination of above said skills.    And, this poll, rather than forcing to pick one QB, needed that extra option to express staying away from this QB class.
