Wouldn't mind Suh but if go after Terrence Knighton first. Have chapman backing him up with a mix of Hughes, Redding, Kerr in the DT roles

Redding, Knighton, Jones or even have Hughes or Kerr start with a rotation to keep them fresh.

If we could somehow manage a Suh, Knighton, jones line would be ridiculous

I say bring in Suh if at all possible.  He instantly legitimizes our Dline.  I am aware of his nasty streak but not worried about it.  If we sign him I hope he stomps on Brady.  The Colts are far too soft in my opinion and a guy like Suh would add some rough rider swag to the mix.  We need some more of that to get us past New England.

No way we could afford suhs contract.. along with luck.. both of which will be seeking 100+ million

I'm not an expert about cap space but it appears we are currently at #6 of available cap (Jaguars, Raiders, Browns, Jets & Titans have more). If Suh was to be picked up by a team with huge cap space left wouldn't we rather have him with us then the Jags or Titans?

Just a thought.

If Suh can play in our 3-4 scheme then he would be a perfect signing. Everyone is saying we don't need a guy like him, but we actually really do...bad. We need a player on D with that mean streak like he has. We need smash mouth, hard nosed, in your face type players that hit hard and scare opposing QB's like Mr. Brady. If Suh could play in the 3-4 and we signed Knighton too our D-Line would be the best in the league. Jones-Knighton-Suh, with RJF, Kerr, Hughes, and a draft pick as backups.

I mean we shouldn't just sign him to keep the Jags or Titans from getting him, but I see what you mean. we can definitely afford him especially with the cap increasing year after year.

I don't think luck is a money hungry dude. I think he would do what's best for the team.

I think Luck's dad or his uncle or someone in his family is his agent, so I'm sure they'll be fighting to get every penny.  Plus, he can't take a really low amount because it hurts his peers.  The right thing is for him to take what's fair.  I don't think he's money hungry, but he still will want a big, $20+ mil per year contract

I can see him taking very slight discount actually. I also wouldn't think he cares how much Wilson and the other young QB's get either.

Other than #5,  showing Trent to the door (which is happening now)   the other four a just not all that serious....

This is what happens when websites hire young kids who don't know anything to write what is known as "click bait"....

Lots of silly nonsense....

I don't really see the need to sign big name WR's. Seattle is a prime example of what not having a top WR can still be a successful team. Build the running game and everything else will fall.

Hilton

Moncrief

And all those PS WR's

D. Carter

G. Whalen

We have enough WR's, build the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Word of the offseason is "trenches"

The team has to have a difference maker on that oline. Is Suh that guy? A 4-3 guy moving to a 3-4 role. Is he good enough to change his role and still be worth the money he will certainly receive? Would Manusky be able to figure out how to best use him (nothing I've seen yet says he can).

As for the big name WR, I just don't see the money going to a top tier player here. A middle guy, perhaps.

In the overall scheme of things, if the Jags or Titans signed him and we kept plodding along with our o-line like we've been doing, that would make our o-line just that much more ineffective against others D. It's hard enough trying to take that next step to true elite status let alone possibly having to worry about our own division.

You have a typo

"Difference maker on that oline"

Suh plays defense

I don't think he does, but he could really hurt the market for them.  Let's say Luck takes a deal that gives him $10 mil per season, because he wants to give us a discount.  Now, guys like Cam and Wilson are upset because they won't be making as much.  Their teams are able to argue that if Andrew Luck, who has more yards and TDs (I believe) than either of those guys is willing to only take $10 mil per season, then they should be content taking $8 mil.  That really hurts them when they could have been making more than double that.  So now Wilson and Cam (and many other QBs looking to get new contracts, especially younger ones) go from being able to make over $15 mil per season to now less than $10 mil.  So while it helps the team, it hurts his peers.  I don't think he cares, but he certainly doesn't want to handcuff his peers into taking less money

This misses on some serious needs.  I think RB is a low priority, if we can open holes we have plenty of guys who can run through them, even Richardson, whom I don't advocate for.  We need O-Line, D-Line, LB and Safety.

As for wide outs, I have to assume Hilton and Moncreif are the two guys for next year.  I like what I saw in him and if we spent our second pick on him this year he'd better be able to play....I think he can.

Then you have Fleener and Allen who are very effective in the passing game, so to suggest we need to spend money on two FA wide-outs to me says you don't know the team or haven't actually been watching.

This also doesn't address our Linebackers inside which is weak against the run or outside where we benched out top pick from two years ago and have no idea if Mathis will make it back.  In fact, perhaps

Walden and Studebaker are the only true 3-4 OLB's on the team.  You might call that a need.

I do like the idea of getting Suh. To me these suggestions are bad ideas not bold one's.

Andrew is a great young man and knows the money will eventually come. However, he probably also feels real bad that he couldn't carry us farther then he did. I would bet he wouldn't insist on receiving top dollar, especially with Brady and Wilson going to the Super Bowl and Rodgers heading up a very good (well rounded?) GB.

I'd wager he'd accept a lower salary but with higher performance pay/bonus. Those stupid contracts with Cutler and Ryan really screw things up.

The only realistic things I see on that list is showing Richardson the door and drafting a running back. Colts won't do much in free agency, they never do (I hate that they don't). Suh will never happen, after luck is signed I don't think they'll want to hand out another big contract. I think Grigson will continue to go after the project guys who he thinks will pan out and be a steal. All just my opinion though.

Suh is a risk moving from a 4-3 DT to a 3-4 DE

He may not be the superstar when he has to be in a different role

It is tempting though.....

We could actually pull this off, as Andrew will probably get a big signing bonus, and accelerate in year 2 in base salary

The Suh contract could be loaded in year 1.

But...... again..... prolly not gonna happen
