Since he would not be a good every down fit for a 34, he could be a specialist when the colts line up in a 43 for pass rush considerations.  But he will want more money, and will get it, than the colts will be willing to give for those few of snaps.

i would love to develop JPP at OLB he could be a great run stopper though i dunno with mathis coming back and Walden playing really well if we could give him the big money he wants but i would sign him in a heartbeat

I'd rather not gamble on somebody who has to convert to a new scheme. Draft a pass rusher or pick up someone with experience in a 3-4. A few guys could be cut in the offseason, I 'm hearing Tamba Hali for example.

If Justin Houston actually tests free agency, since I doubt KC can afford to franchise tag him, we should try for him first and foremost. The other guy I really want is C Stefen Wisniewski.

 

The in the draft try and get a pass rusher from the DE position. I like Michael Bennett in the 2nd for us.

KC isn't letting him go anywhere. If they do, they're stupid. They won't have a lot of cap space, but with some moves, they can make room to tag him. More likely, they give him what he asks for before free agency starts.

 

We'd more likely have a chance at Tamba Hali, because they'll probably need to release him in order to keep Houston.

JPP has had injury concerns as well, I would rather for Newsome to start and draft another pass rusher. Werner is obviously not the answer, too slow and not explosive enough.

I would rather us bring in a better slot receiver or guard and draft prospective OLBs or DE's that we can groom for the next 4-8 years.

I think we just need to shift Werner to SAM and have Newsome as our backup for Mathis. Let them develop in those positions and we could be set for years. At this point, we need an upgrade at ILB (although I like the president's solid showing in minimal snaps this season) and on the d-line.

JPP is gunna want a heap of money, hasn't played rush linebacker before, runs hot/cold. Unless we're paying that heap of money for a pass rush specialist who will only be on the field when we line up 4 on the line?...
