Jack Mewhort?

Jack had a couple off games this year, but the first 4 were excellent and I think his struggles were due to his injury more than hitting a rookie wall or regression etc... Even in the game against Jax last week, he was the strength of the line. He's only allowed 1 sack this year if I remember right and he's starting to be a consistent part of the line week after week. As said above, the left side of the line with him and Constanzo is our strength. We needed a bullseye without a first rounder in the draft, and Mewhort is definitely that.

He's been really good' but the line "needs sorting 1st and 2nd 'round next draft on centre and right guard' then new "o line coach" maybe jeff saturday. then let grow together protect luck with our weapons and skys the limit. No more grammar police I know its bad.

I didn't like the pick when we drafted him, I thought he was a 3rd rounder, but I'm glad we got him and Grigson did a good job with him and I wasn't  impressed with our draft this year.. the other guards I thought were available and better are not doing near as well...

I agree I think he will become a Beast in a couple years and is having a good Rookie season

Definitely a new oline coach imo. This year we need a safety and possibly another cb in the first and second round

I think he was a good draft pick overll, but he's still learning and has growing pains at different times just like any rookie.  For instance on the run that Boom Herron fumbled down in the red zone it was Mewhort that got driven all the way back into Herrons path which kind of skewed the read he was going to make.  Overall I think he has plenty of promise though.

The OL problems have not been at C, LG, or LT

Center hasn't been as bad, but it's absolutely an area of concern. I've watched Harrison make a number of mistakes every game. He's shown flashes, but he's made some crucial errors as well. I'm not sold on him as of now. Maybe in a year or so, but if we want to make a super bowl run, I would feel soooo much better if we switched back to Shipley.

our interior O Linemen need to have 1 thing in particular drilled into there heads.........When pass blocking NEVER turn sideways and reach for a D Lineman because you open a hole for a stunting D Lineman or Linebacker to run right through, Instead stay facing front using either your left or right hand to hold off that D Lineman while guarding for a stunting d lineman or a blitzing linebacker

    • I'm not in Indiana, but I am so ready for the draft. I should have taken the day off.   I would be surprised to see that trade. The pats have said they have not received serious offers to trade back. But that would be great to see Marvin Harrison's son as a Colt.
    • Surprisingly in “twitter land” it’s picking up steam lol. It’s the Wild West in there right now. On the .0000001% chance it happens I feel the fanbase would still be split. Some furious over compensation. Some over the moon to get Marvin’s son in Indy.    As long as we don’t draft a OL in the first round I’ll be a happy camper. Hoping for Bowers, BTJ, Arnold in that order for who would (realistically) want.
    • There’s been a lot of comments made by Ballard lately that they are always planning a few years out, while the coach is pushing for players that can help now. So it’s a balance. He’s made comments that the goal is to protect and provide weapons for AR. The talent at the top of the draft seems like there could be a couple really good offensive lineman falling down to us, with a run on receivers and skill players. I don’t necessarily see that, I think there could be a run on qbs, tackles, and pass rushers with the obvious 3 receivers before we pick. That could potentially push all corners, as well as Bowers down to 15. But say, both corners and Bowers go top 15, who does that push out? Most likely a talented tackle. They can either trade back or take the highest rated player on the board, which would provide swing tackle depth, and a plan for if Smith is injured/isnt re-signed following 2025. Some are speculating it might be best to move Smith to guard in that scenario.
    • I don't believe this would ever happen as the price would be much too steep. The only way this is even a remote possibility is if the Pats do not like Maye or McCarthy . Then this would also need the QB needy teams to feel the same as NE . The value of Maye , if he's a franchise QB is multiple firsts. IMO , you can't give up that for a WR
