@KBowenColts: Colts are indoors today for practice. Stretching underway. Looks like Reggie Wayne is a go today for the first time since Bengals week.

@KBowenColts: Manusky mentions Victor Butler, Andy Studebaker and Jonathan Newsome has guys to rotate if Erik Walden can’t play on Monday night.

@KBowenColts: Pep Hamilton on Donte Moncrief: “...A guy that can take a short pass and make something out of nothing in some cases (i.e. Pittsburgh)."

@KBowenColts: Hamilton on Reggie Wayne: “We just finished our third-down practice and having Reggie available makes it a lot easier for our quarterback."

:colts:

More updates on the way as they come

@HolderStephen: Based on what I just saw in practice, I think odds are decent Reggie Wayne (elbow) plays for #Colts Monday nite vs #Giants.

@HolderStephen: Art Jones (ankle) did not practice for the second straight day. He did not look good in Pittsburgh. Has had a boot on this week too.

Thanks for all of the good info, TK. It looks like we rushed Art Jones back too soon, and now we'll have to wait for him to heal up....again. Good thing the bye week is around the corner.

This coming bye week will seriously go down as one of the best timed bye weeks of Colts history

Injuries to be healed and then right before the biggest game of the 2nd half of the season

Ironically, a week ago, people were saying it was taking too long for him to get back out there. Now, we rushed him back...

If he's not better, he probably won't play. Then he gets the bye, then he can be re-evaluated in Week 11. Hope he's back for the Pats game, because they'll want to run the ball on us.

Who do they have at RB now? Isn't Ridley on IR?

High ankle sprains are a problem. Sometimes they can just plain ruin an entire year. I don't think Freeney ever really recovered from the one he had in early 2012. He just was off his game that whole year IMO.

Well yeah, especially for a bigger guy trying to play through it. I would think 5 weeks is enough time for him to be well enough to play without setbacks, but you never know. And it might have been stepped on or something else might have happened to aggravate it.

Freeney had a lot going on. Not only was he learning a new position, but he was also a player who relied on his explosiveness and change of direction to make plays. Much more so than Art Jones. I agree, he never looked comfortable that year, and had the deck stacked against him the whole way. Too bad, really.

It really is , as he can still rush the passer and could have contributed if he stayed in Indy.

They have Vereen and Gray. Vereen is more of a pass catcher and Gray is a rookie I think. They have been using gray a lot. He's quick.

Jonas Gray has some potential he was on his way to a great senior year for the Irish before a knee injury. He got caught in the Kelly take over being a Weis recruit not sure what took so long for Kelly to give him the ball. He average 6.9 per carry had 800 yards his senior year before going down with the ACL. I was hoping he would turn up somewhere not happy it was NE. He can play and is a kid you want to cheer for to bad he's a Pat.

I wonder what "3rd down" practice is like?  As opposed to practicing any other play.

and here lies our problem lol... I totally hate griff as a returner but he is a stud possession 3rd down guy let's take pressure of reggie

Well the problem is more on Andrew than anything else. There's other people open but he's always looking for Reggie. I thought last year when Reggie went down it would help Andrew as far as looking for other guys. But nope, still locks onto Reggie even with a plethora of weapons this season

And what facts do you have to support that statement?

He was injured early in the Pitt Game. So I guess it's his fault they dropped 51 huh?

The team had good chemistry without him, I just don't see where everyone thinks he

is our best lineman. The D line just seems to play better out of the gate without him

slated as a starter.

Lost the first two games of the year and Pitt with him as a starter. He just has not impressed me at all.

So Week 1- He's the reason alone Denver beat us?

Week 2- He's the reason Malcolm Jenkins caught the interception against Hilton? He's the reason Parkey kicked the GW FG?

Pitt- He's the reason for the pick 6? The lack of pass rush?

Hmm, didn't know the team was called Arthur Jones

Thought it was the :colts: but you taught me something new today. 1 man is to blame for everything. Makes sense

D line chemistry looks tons better without him starting is all. Chemistry means a lot in team sports.

Too a certain extent. This isn't basketball where chemistry is everything. You still need experienced capable play makers at key positions. The line performing well without him likely means that the line as a whole is really solid overall, and he isn't an "Impact player". It doesn't mean he's not good, but that things aren't going to go downhill with him not there.

    • Man I feel real strong about Brian Thomas jr. I think it's on and cracking if we get him. His game is just consistent and he is such a hard cover. I like him being paired with Pittman. I really do!
    • This is probably the most exciting nonplaying event of the year and it’s tomorrow. I just hope that Balllard  and the scouting department I’ve done their job thoroughly
    • @2006Coltsbestever @NFLfan   Kirk has been treated much better and with much more respect than Wentz was treated in Indy. And was showed with Love and truckloads of money in Minnesota, and was defended constantly with much more ferocity by Vikings fans than people defending Ballard in Grievances thread.    it'd be crazy to think of injustice against Kirk for a few minority who criticize his play.    We're Going back and forth on Kirk debate which will go on for eternity, but I struck Gold when I saw recently @Superman explaining how he felt watching Wentz playing with other teams before he got to Indy and how it felt watching him play for Colts when you're emotionally invested with the franchise.    There's no other way to perfectly describe Kirk Cousins' career and his QB play.   For every fan around the NFL, especially for fantasy football fans, Kirk will be a hero and am above average QB. But, when you're emotionally invested in your favourite franchise and Kirk plays QB for your team, you would come close to understanding how excruciatingly frustrating his play and smartness and game awareness are (or shortage of them are), that all contributes to team missing playoffs many years and even when they qualify, no one sees Kirk as a threat in playoffs. Ever. Your team would be paying Elite QB Money for that, and you'd be constantly in debate with criticizers Vs defenders. Until he plays for your team, you won't realize that, and I totally understand.    Anyway, happy to pass on that frustration over to Falcons fans, they'd know soon. First of all, Kirk takes at least a season or two to trust his OL, even if you put an elite line and weapons around him, and it's all in his head. I'm going to sit back and read Falcons forums for Fun in 2024 Season! Good Times!
    • I have no idea how it will all shake out, but I have my popcorn ready.
    • There are no owners in the NFL that are perfect people. Some owner's demons are more public, some not so much, but they all have them. There's much more to the free agency issue and the Colts than most are aware of. There are a lot of intangibles most will never consider. That said, there is more to almost every aspect of any organization that most will ever be aware of. Those are often the things that matter most.
