NFL.com seem optimistic about the Colts

Now, I know it would be a huge shock to every football fan and analyst the world over if the Colts did not win the AFC South. I bet even Texans fans would be suprised. It should come as no shock that NFL.com unanimously picked the Colts to win the AFC South. Here is the article.

What suprised me is the comments. Judy Batista, who wrote about the Colts defense last week, still refers to the D as viable. She almost writes off the Steelers game as if it wasn't the norm.

Dave Dameshek, quirky as he is, predicts that the Colts have lost their last game in 2014. Really? I mean we are all pretty big Colts fans so even with the obvious bias we would be brave to predict that.

Michael Silver says the Colts haven't come close to peaking. This is all making me very excited about the season ahead again.

I guess I am suprised that the media aren't jumping all over the Colts after the Steelers game. There seems to be a decent amount of confidence in media circles about the Colts future this season. I think we are the only team who will be able to take down Denver in the playoffs. Honestly. Maybe I am not so crazy.

Everyone on this forum knows the :colts: don't get ANY media coverage. Your sources aren't real, you're a phony!!!

None of that surprises me. The Steelers game wasn't the norm. It was an aberration. Even in the first couple of games when the defense was really bad at times, it was never as bad as it was last week. We were at our worst amd caught them at their best.

And while I think it's a stretch to say that we won't lose again, I do think we can be better in the second half. The division is ours, barring major occurrences over thr next two months, and I think the coaching staff has some adjustments after the bye that will tune this thing up a little bit.

So I mostly agree with the NFL.com people you're talking about. Whether we're good enough to do some damage in the playoffs is another story, one that hasn't been told yet. But the team is still good. Even a blowout only counts as one loss.

Dave Dameshek: Colts. Bold prediction: "The Colts have lost their last game of the 2014 regular season."

I like the enthusiasm there, but it's like a woman saying you're the best lover she's ever had. Translation: Be reasonable & don't over sell the argument. Let's hold off on the ticker tape parade for now. Thanks.

Dave Dameshek and Michael Silver = Dumb & Dumber

Exactly BOTT, Michael Silver is not a NFL pundit that I hold in high regard. He reminds me of a guy that is "all hat no cattle." He thinks he's something special & he's really not. Hate to pop that bubble sir, but the truth hurts sorry. He's more artificial than a fake Christmas tree. JMO.

As long as we keep our CB's and QB healthy we could very easily run the table. The schedule sets up really nice for us I think.

Although I agree, I also wouldn't be surprised to see a 5-5 record after the Patriots game. The Giants game concerns me a bit, and the Pats game, well, it concerns me a lot. 7-3 has a MUCH nicer ring to it though, and running the table would be fantastic.

We still got the Cowboys and the Pats left as good teams as well as some mid level teams that can't be ignored.

Giants

Patriots

Jaguars

Redskins

Browns

Texans

Cowboys

Titans

Only mid-level teams would be Redskins (Assuming they have Griffin) & Texans

Maybe..... Just maybe the Browns

But for the most part, that schedule favors us heavily

It's important to remember that these "analysts" really don't know any more than the fans.

Dave Dameshek's entire persona is to be whacky and make bold predictions.

Not to mention, he picked the Colts for the Super Bowl at the start of the season so he will obviously stick with his pick.
